1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Sengled Smart WiFi Light Bulb. This smart bulb offers convenient control via the Sengled Home app, voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, and remote access without requiring a separate hub. 2. Safety Information

Observe the following safety precautions to prevent damage to the product or personal injury:

  • Do not use with standard dimmers. Only dim through the Sengled Home app or compatible voice assistants.
  • Suitable for use in operating environments between -20°C and +40°C (-4°F and +104°F).
  • Not for use in totally enclosed luminaires.
  • Do not disassemble the bulb. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
  • Avoid direct exposure to water or moisture. This bulb is for indoor use only.
  • Ensure the power is off before installing or removing the bulb.

4. Setup

4.1. Installation

  1. Turn off the power to the light fixture where you intend to install the bulb.
  2. Carefully screw the Sengled Smart WiFi Light Bulb into a standard E26 socket.
  3. Turn on the power to the light fixture. The bulb should light up.

4.2. App Download and Connection

The Sengled Smart WiFi Light Bulb connects directly to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. No additional hub is required.

  1. Download the Sengled Home app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  2. Register for a Sengled account or log in if you already have one.
  3. In the app, tap the '+' icon to add a device. Select 'Smart Wi-Fi LED' and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the bulb to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

4.3. Pairing with Voice Assistants

To enable voice control, link your Sengled Home account with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant:

  • For Amazon Alexa: Open the Alexa app, go to 'Skills & Games', search for 'Sengled Home', enable the skill, and link your Sengled account. Discover devices.
  • For Google Assistant: Open the Google Home app, tap 'Add' > 'Set up device' > 'Works with Google', search for 'Sengled Home', and link your Sengled account.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Basic Control (On/Off/Dimming)

  • Via Sengled Home App: Open the app, select your bulb, and use the on-screen controls to turn it on/off or adjust brightness.
  • Via Wall Switch: You can still use a traditional wall switch for basic on/off functionality. Note that turning the bulb off via the wall switch will disconnect it from the network until it's turned back on.

5.2. Remote Control

Control your smart bulb from anywhere using the Sengled Home app, provided your bulb is connected to Wi-Fi and your smartphone has an internet connection.

5.3. Voice Control

Once paired with Alexa or Google Assistant, use voice commands to control your bulb:

  • "Alexa, turn on the living room light."
  • "Hey Google, dim the bedroom light to 50%."
  • "Alexa, set the kitchen light to soft white."

5.4. Scheduling and Routines

Create schedules and routines within the Sengled Home app or your voice assistant app to automate your lighting.

  • Set Timers: Program lights to turn on/off at specific times.
  • Wake Up & Sleep Mode: Schedule lights to gradually brighten in the morning or slowly dim in the evening to simulate sunrise/sunset.

5.5. Group Control

Group multiple Sengled smart bulbs together in the app to control them simultaneously with a single command.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Ensure the bulb is off and cool before cleaning. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Sengled Home app for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Bulb Not Connecting to Wi-Fi

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. 5GHz networks are not supported.
  • Check that your Wi-Fi router is within range of the bulb.
  • Verify your Wi-Fi password is entered correctly in the app.
  • Try power cycling the bulb (turn off and on at the wall switch) and your Wi-Fi router.
  • If issues persist, perform a factory reset on the bulb (turn it off and on five times quickly).

7.2. Voice Control Not Working

  • Confirm your Sengled Home account is correctly linked in the Alexa or Google Home app.
  • Ensure the bulb is named clearly and consistently across all apps.
  • Check your internet connection.

7.3. Bulb Flickering or Unresponsive

  • Ensure the bulb is not connected to a traditional dimmer switch.
  • Check for loose connections in the light fixture.
  • Power cycle the bulb.
