2. Setup and Installation

Proper setup ensures reliable operation of the terminal block. Follow these steps for installation and wiring.

  1. Mounting: Secure the module to a stable surface using appropriate fasteners through the mounting holes. Refer to the dimensions diagram for precise measurements.
  2. Wire Preparation: For screw terminals (A/B), strip wires to approximately 7mm. For screwless terminals (A1-B12), strip wires to approximately 8mm. Ensure the wire gauge is within the specified range (26AWG ~ 12AWG for screw terminals, 26AWG ~ 20AWG for screwless terminals).
  3. Connecting to Screw Terminals: Loosen the screws on the A or B terminal blocks. Insert the stripped wire into the terminal opening and tighten the screw to secure the connection.
  4. Connecting to Screwless Terminals: Use a small screwdriver or your finger to press down the orange button above the desired terminal (A1-B12). While holding the button down, insert the stripped wire into the hole. Release the button to secure the wire. Gently tug on the wire to confirm it is firmly held.
  5. Daisy-Chaining Modules: For applications requiring more than 24 positions, multiple modules can be connected in series. The A and B terminals on each module can be used to extend the power distribution to subsequent modules.

3. Operating Principles

The OONO terminal block functions as a passive distribution module. Once properly wired, it facilitates the distribution of electrical power from a single source to multiple loads or branches. The internal schematic illustrates how the A and B lines are distributed to the individual A1-A12 and B1-B12 positions.

Ensure that the total current drawn through the module does not exceed 16 Amps and that the voltage remains within the 48V AC/DC limit. Each individual screwless terminal position is rated for 2 Amps.

4. Maintenance

The OONO terminal block is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation under normal conditions. However, periodic checks can help ensure continued reliability:

  • Visual Inspection: Periodically inspect the module for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
  • Connection Integrity: Gently check all wire connections to ensure they remain secure. For screw terminals, re-tighten if necessary. For screwless terminals, ensure wires are fully seated.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the module free from dust, dirt, and moisture. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your terminal block, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power to Load:
    • Verify the power source connected to the main A/B terminals is active and providing the correct voltage.
    • Check all wire connections for looseness or improper insertion. Re-seat or re-tighten as needed.
    • Ensure the wire gauge used is appropriate for the terminals and that wires are stripped to the correct length.
  • Intermittent Connection:
    • This often indicates a loose wire. Re-check all connections, especially for screwless terminals where wires might not be fully inserted.
    • Inspect wires for damage or corrosion at the stripped ends. Re-strip and re-connect if necessary.
  • Overheating/Discoloration:
    • Immediately disconnect power. Overheating suggests current exceeding the module's or individual terminal's rating.
    • Verify that the total current draw does not exceed 16 Amps and that no single screwless terminal position exceeds 2 Amps.
    • Ensure proper ventilation around the module if it's enclosed.
