Setup Guide
Follow these steps to set up your SZSINOCAM security camera system.
1. Hard Drive Installation (Optional but Recommended for Recording)
If you plan to record video, you will need to install a compatible SATA hard drive (1TB to 6TB) into the NVR. Refer to the detailed instructions in the included user manual for opening the NVR and installing the HDD.
2. Initial Connection
- Connect the NVR to a monitor (VGA or HDMI output) using an appropriate cable.
- Connect the USB mouse to the NVR.
- Connect the NVR to your WiFi router using an Ethernet (LAN) cable.
- Attach the antennas to each camera.
- Connect the power adapter to the NVR and plug it into a power outlet.
- Connect the power adapters to each camera and plug them into power outlets.

Figure 2: System Connection Diagram. This diagram illustrates how to connect the NVR to cameras, power, a monitor, and a WiFi router for app access.
The cameras are pre-paired with the NVR from the factory. Once powered on, they should automatically connect to the NVR, and you should see the camera feeds on the connected monitor.
3. Camera Placement and Signal Optimization
Before final mounting, test the signal strength of each camera in its intended location. Ensure a strong and stable Wi-Fi connection for optimal performance. The system features an automatic cascading function, where cameras can connect to the NVR via another camera with a stronger signal if direct connection is weak.

Figure 3: Automatic Cascading. This diagram illustrates how cameras can relay signals to the NVR, improving coverage in larger areas.
Mount the cameras using the provided mounting kits. Ensure the cameras are positioned to cover the desired surveillance areas effectively.
4. Mobile App Setup
Download the "Danale" app (or other recommended app by SZSINOCAM) on your mobile device (smartphone or tablet). Register an account and add your NVR device by scanning the Cloud ID or following the in-app instructions. This allows for remote viewing and management.

Operating Instructions
Live View and Recording
Once the system is set up, you can view live feeds on your connected monitor or through the mobile app. The NVR will continuously record footage to the installed hard drive (if present).

Motion Detection and Alerts
The system supports customizable motion detection zones and sensitivity. When motion is detected, the system can:
- Send real-time notifications to your mobile device.
- Send email alerts with snapshots to a specified email address.
- Record a short video clip (approx. 2 minutes) of the event.
To configure motion detection settings, navigate to the NVR's menu using the USB mouse and connected monitor, or through the mobile app.

Remote Access
Use the mobile app to view live feeds, playback recorded footage, and manage system settings from anywhere with an internet connection. The P2P mode ensures secure communication.

Video Playback and Backup
Access recorded footage through the NVR interface or the mobile app. To back up recordings, connect a USB stick or external hard drive to the NVR and use the backup function in the NVR menu. Note that video files may be in a specific format requiring a compatible player or conversion.
Maintenance
- Camera Cleaning: Regularly clean the camera lenses with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear image quality. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for firmware updates for the NVR and cameras. Follow the provided instructions carefully for any updates.
- Hard Drive Management: If your hard drive becomes full, older recordings will be overwritten automatically. Regularly back up important footage to external storage.
- Power Supply: Ensure all power adapters are securely connected and free from damage.
- Environmental Protection: While cameras are IP66 rated, avoid direct exposure to extreme weather conditions if possible to prolong their lifespan.
Troubleshooting
No Video Feed / Offline Cameras
- Check Power: Ensure both the NVR and cameras are properly powered on and their power adapters are securely connected.
- Check Antennas: Verify that all camera antennas are securely attached.
- Signal Strength: Poor Wi-Fi signal can cause cameras to go offline. Try repositioning cameras closer to the NVR or a camera with a stronger signal. Walls and obstacles can interfere with wireless signals.
- Re-pair Cameras: If cameras do not reconnect automatically, you may need to manually re-pair them with the NVR. Refer to the full user manual for specific re-pairing instructions.
Poor Image Quality
- Clean Lens: Ensure camera lenses are clean and free from dirt, dust, or water spots.
- Resolution Settings: Verify that the NVR and camera display settings are configured for 1296P resolution.
- Lighting: Ensure adequate lighting for optimal daytime performance. For night vision, ensure no obstructions are blocking the IR LEDs.

Figure 10: Day and Night Vision. This image shows the clear daytime image and the effective 30m IR-cut night vision.
False Motion Alerts
- Adjust Sensitivity: Reduce the motion detection sensitivity in the NVR settings or mobile app.
- Define Zones: Configure specific motion detection zones to exclude areas with frequent, non-threatening movement (e.g., trees swaying, busy roads).
Remote Access Issues
- Internet Connection: Ensure both your NVR (via router) and mobile device have a stable internet connection.
- App Login: Verify you are logged into the correct account on the mobile app.
- Firewall/Router Settings: Check your router's firewall settings to ensure they are not blocking the P2P connection.
