Setup Guide

1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed below are present and undamaged.

2. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the internal Lithium-ion 1950mA battery.

1. Connect the 240v charger to the charging port on the device.
2. Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet.
3. The "Charge" indicator light on the device will illuminate during charging.
4. Charging is complete when the "Charge" light turns off or changes color (refer to device indicators).

Alternatively, use the 12 volt cigarette lighter cable to charge the device in a vehicle.

3. Connecting to a Satellite Dish

Connect the LNB cable from your satellite dish to the "LNB IN" port on the Satlink WS-6906.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power button to turn the device on or off. The LCD screen will illuminate.

2. Navigating the Menu

Use the directional arrow keys (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT) to navigate through menu options on the 3.5-inch LCD screen. Press the OK button to confirm a selection. The MENU button accesses the main menu, and EXIT returns to the previous screen.

3. Satellite Search and Alignment

The primary function of the WS-6906 is to assist in satellite dish alignment.

1. From the main menu, select "Satellite Search" or "Add Satellite" to configure the desired satellite.
2. Input the correct frequency, symbol rate, and polarization for the satellite you wish to find.
3. Adjust your satellite dish's azimuth and elevation while observing the signal strength and quality indicators on the screen. The device will provide a sound warning prompt when a satellite is locked.
4. Monitor the Bit Error Rate (BER), Carrier to Noise (C/N), and dBuV readouts to fine-tune the dish for optimal signal.
5. Once the signal is strong and stable, secure the dish in place.

4. Watching Free Channels (FTA)

The device can display live FTA digital picture and sound.

• After locking onto a satellite, navigate to the channel list.
• Select a channel to view its content directly on the 3.5-inch LCD screen.
• Use the AV out function to connect the device to an external display for larger viewing.

5. Software Upgrade

The device's software can be upgraded via USB.

1. Download the latest firmware from the official Satlink website.
2. Copy the firmware file to a USB flash drive.
3. Connect the USB flash drive to the USB port on the WS-6906.
4. Navigate to the "System" or "Upgrade" menu option and follow the on-screen prompts to initiate the software upgrade.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the screen or casing.

2. Battery Care

To prolong battery life:

• Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
• Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
• Recharge the battery periodically if stored for a long time to prevent deep discharge.
