4. Setup

Follow these steps to prepare your angle grinder for use:

1. Install Battery: Insert a fully charged Activ Energy 40V battery pack into the battery slot until it clicks into place. Ensure it is securely seated.
2. Attach Auxiliary Handle: Screw the auxiliary handle into one of the threaded holes on the gear housing. Choose the position that provides the best control for your application.
3. Adjust Guard: Position the protective guard to ensure maximum safety for your specific task. The guard should always be between you and the rotating disc.
4. Install Grinding/Cutting Disc:
   • Press the spindle lock button to prevent the spindle from rotating.
   • Place the inner flange onto the spindle.
   • Place the desired 125 mm grinding or cutting disc onto the inner flange.
   • Screw the outer flange (spindle nut) onto the spindle.
   • Use the provided spanner wrench (Figure 5) to firmly tighten the spindle nut. Release the spindle lock.

1. Grip the Tool: Hold the angle grinder firmly with both hands, one on the main handle and one on the auxiliary handle.
2. Starting the Tool: Slide the ON/OFF switch (Figure 4) to the 'ON' position. The disc will immediately begin to rotate at a no-load speed of 8500 rpm.
3. Grinding/Cutting: Allow the disc to reach full speed before making contact with the workpiece. Apply light, even pressure. Do not force the tool. For grinding, use an angle of approximately 15-30 degrees to the workpiece. For cutting, hold the tool perpendicular to the workpiece.
4. Stopping the Tool: Slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position. Wait for the disc to come to a complete stop before setting the tool down.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your angle grinder.

• Cleaning: After each use, clean the tool with a soft cloth. Use compressed air to clear dust from ventilation openings. Do not use water or chemical cleaners.
• Disc Inspection and Replacement: Regularly inspect grinding and cutting discs for wear, cracks, or damage. Replace worn or damaged discs immediately. Always use discs with a 125 mm diameter and M14 spindle thread.
• Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not expose them to extreme temperatures. Charge batteries using only the recommended Activ Energy charger.
• General Inspection: Check all screws and fasteners periodically to ensure they are tight. Inspect the power cord (if applicable to charger) and housing for any damage.
