Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance of your Midea Duo unit. The unit is designed for simple and space-saving installation.
Window Installation
The Midea Duo fits a wide range of windows, both horizontally and vertically, with adjustable window kit components.

For Hung Window Installation:
- Measure the width of your window.
- Cut one piece of foam A for the window sill and another for the window sash.
- Install each piece of foam on the window.
- Prepare the window slider by choosing the correct panel combination from the user manual table and sliding the panels together. If more than one panel is needed, use bolts to fasten them, leaving the end panel loose for adjustment.
- Install foam B to the sides of the window frame or the ends of the window panels.
- Insert the window slider into the window opening, ensuring the hose cut-out is positioned at the top.
- Adjust the slider to fit tightly and insert the final bolt if applicable.
- Close the window and install the window security bracket (found in the installation hardware bag).
- Cut foam C to fit between the window sashes for added insulation.
For Sliding Window Installation:
- Measure the height of your window.
- Cut one piece of foam A for the window frame and another for the window sash.
- Install each piece of foam on the window.
- Prepare the window slider by choosing the correct panel combination from the user manual table and sliding the panels together. If more than one panel is needed, use two bolts (one on each side) to fasten them, leaving the end panel loose for adjustment.
- Install foam B to the top and bottom of the window frame or the ends of the window panels.
- Insert the window sliders into your window, ensuring the hose cut-out is positioned away from the window frame.
- Adjust the slider to fit tightly and insert the final bolt if applicable.
- Close the window and install the included window security bracket.
- Cut foam C to fit between the window sashes for added insulation.

The unit is equipped with a dust filter. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to access and clean the filter. Regular cleaning is recommended to maintain air quality and unit efficiency.
Condensate Drain
The Midea Duo features an auto-evaporation system in Cool mode, meaning condensate typically does not need to be drained. However, in high humidity environments or when using Dry mode, condensate drainage may be required.
- For Dry Mode: Remove the cover and plug from the top drain outlet and connect the supplied drain hose. Secure the drain hose to a bucket or use the adapter to connect to a longer hose. A garden hose can be optionally attached to the threaded outlet.
- For Heat Mode: Remove the middle drain hose cover and plug, then attach the supplied drain hose. The drain pump will activate and pump out condensate when enough is generated. The pump can lift water up to 6 feet above the hose connection.
- For P1 Error (Full Condensate Tray): If the P1 error code appears on the display, it indicates the condensate tray is full. Remove the drain cover and plug from the bottom tray and empty the condensate.
