Setup Instructions

This fire pit requires minimal assembly. Follow these steps to set up your fire pit:

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Verify that all components listed in the product overview are present.
  2. Unfold Legs: Place the fire bowl upside down on a soft, clean surface. Unfold the four metal legs outwards until they lock into position. Ensure the ring latches are securely engaged to prevent accidental collapse.
  3. Position Fire Pit: Turn the fire pit upright and place it on a flat, stable, non-combustible surface, at least 20 feet away from any flammable materials.
  4. Insert Log Grate: Place the log grate inside the fire bowl. This elevates the fuel for better airflow.
  5. Prepare for Use: If using for grilling, place the food-grade cooking grate on top of the fire bowl. If using as a fire pit, ensure the spark screen is readily available.

Operating Instructions

For Fire Pit Use:

  1. Add Fuel: Place charcoal or firewood onto the log grate within the fire bowl. Do not overfill.
  2. Ignite: Use appropriate fire starters to ignite the fuel. Never use gasoline or other highly flammable liquids.
  3. Place Spark Screen: Once the fire is established, carefully place the spark screen over the fire bowl using the fire poker to contain sparks and embers.
  4. Manage Fire: Use the fire poker to adjust logs or charcoal as needed. Always keep a safe distance.
  5. Extinguish: Allow the fire to burn down naturally. Do not use water to extinguish a hot fire pit, as this can cause damage and create steam hazards. Ensure all embers are completely extinguished before leaving unattended.

For BBQ Grill Use:

  1. Prepare Fuel: Place charcoal on the log grate. Ignite the charcoal and allow it to reach optimal cooking temperature (ash-covered).
  2. Place Cooking Grate: Carefully place the food-grade cooking grate over the fire bowl.
  3. Cook Food: Place food directly on the cooking grate. Monitor cooking and turn food as necessary.
  4. Clean After Use: After cooking, allow the grill to cool completely before cleaning.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your fire pit.

  • Cleaning: After each use and once the fire pit has completely cooled, remove ash and debris. The cooking grate can be cleaned with a grill brush and warm soapy water. Wipe down the fire bowl and spark screen with a damp cloth.
  • Storage: When not in use, especially during inclement weather or for extended periods, ensure the fire pit is clean and dry. Fold the legs and place the fire pit into the included carrying bag. Store in a cool, dry place to prevent rust and damage.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect all components for signs of wear, damage, or rust. Replace any damaged parts immediately.

Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their solutions:

  • Difficulty Lighting Fire: Ensure fuel is dry and properly arranged for airflow. Use adequate fire starters.
  • Excessive Smoke: Use dry, seasoned firewood. Avoid burning green wood or trash. Ensure proper airflow by not overfilling the fire pit.
  • Unstable Legs: Verify that the folding legs are fully extended and the ring latches are securely engaged. Ensure the fire pit is on a flat, even surface.
  • Rust Formation: This is common for steel products exposed to outdoor elements. Clean and dry the fire pit thoroughly after each use and store it in the carrying bag in a dry location. A high-temperature rust-resistant paint can be applied if needed.
