3. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your Minelab EQUINOX 800 metal detector.

1. Attach the Lower Shaft: Connect the 24-inch lower shaft to the main control unit's shaft. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
2. Install the Search Coil: Attach the 6-inch search coil (or the 11-inch Double-D Smart Coil) to the lower shaft using the provided bolt and washers. Tighten firmly but do not overtighten.
3. Wrap the Coil Cable: Neatly wrap the coil cable around the shaft, securing it with the integrated clips or Velcro straps to prevent snagging.
4. Connect the Coil Cable: Plug the coil cable connector into the port on the control unit. Ensure a snug fit to maintain waterproof integrity.
5. Adjust Armrest: Adjust the armrest for comfortable operation. It should support your forearm without causing strain.
6. Charge the Battery: Before first use, fully charge the detector's internal battery using the supplied USB charging cable with magnetic connector. The battery indicator on the display will show charging status.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On and Off

• To Power On: Press and hold the power button (⏻) on the control unit until the screen illuminates.
• To Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the screen turns off.

4.2 Detect Modes

The EQUINOX 800 features 4 primary Detect Modes, optimized for different environments:

• Park Mode: Ideal for high-trash areas like parks and public spaces.

4.4 Wireless Audio

The EQUINOX 800 comes with Bluetooth / apt-X Low Latency Headphones and a WM 08 Wireless Audio Module.

• Pairing Headphones: Turn on the headphones and the detector. The detector will automatically attempt to pair. Refer to the headphone manual for specific pairing instructions if needed.
• Using WM 08 Module: The WM 08 module provides an additional low-latency audio option. Power it on and ensure it is paired with the detector.
