Important Safety Information

Installation Instructions (Ballast Bypass)

This LED tube is a Type B (Ballast Bypass) lamp, requiring direct wiring to the main power supply. The existing fluorescent ballast must be removed or bypassed.

General Installation Steps:

  1. Disconnect Power: Turn off power to the fixture at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
  2. Remove Existing Lamp: Carefully remove the existing fluorescent lamp(s) from the fixture.
  3. Bypass/Remove Ballast: Open the fixture and locate the fluorescent ballast. Disconnect all wires leading to and from the ballast. Remove the ballast from the fixture.
  4. Rewire Fixture: This LED tube supports both single-ended and double-ended wiring. Refer to the specific wiring diagrams below for your chosen method.
  5. Install LED Tube: Insert the Satco S11960 LED tube into the fixture's lamp holders. Ensure it is securely seated.
  6. Restore Power: Close the fixture cover and restore power at the circuit breaker.

1. Single-Ended Wiring:

For single-ended wiring, power (Line and Neutral) is connected to the pins on one end of the LED tube. The other end of the tube is not connected to power.

  • Connect the Line (L) wire from the main power supply to one pin of the designated 'input' end of the lamp holder.
  • Connect the Neutral (N) wire from the main power supply to the other pin of the designated 'input' end of the lamp holder.
  • The lamp holders on the opposite end of the fixture should not be wired to power.

2. Double-Ended Wiring:

For double-ended wiring, the Line (L) wire is connected to one end of the LED tube, and the Neutral (N) wire is connected to the other end. Both ends of the fixture's lamp holders will be wired.

  • Connect the Line (L) wire from the main power supply to one pin of the lamp holder at one end of the fixture.
  • Connect the Neutral (N) wire from the main power supply to one pin of the lamp holder at the opposite end of the fixture.
  • Ensure that the pins on the same end of the tube are not shorted together.

Operating Instructions

Once properly installed, the Satco S11960 LED tube light operates like a standard light fixture.

  • Turn on the wall switch or power supply connected to the fixture to illuminate the lamp.
  • Turn off the wall switch or power supply to extinguish the lamp.
  • No warm-up time is required; the lamp will provide instant full brightness.

Maintenance

The Satco S11960 LED tube light requires minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Ensure power is disconnected before cleaning. Wipe the lamp with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Troubleshooting
