Operating Instructions
Automatic Recording
Once connected to power and the vehicle's ignition is on, the dash camera will automatically start recording. Recording will cease when the ignition is turned off.
Loop Recording
The camera utilizes loop recording, which means it continuously records video in segments. When the MicroSD card is full, the oldest unlocked files are automatically overwritten by new recordings. This ensures that the camera never runs out of storage space.
G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)
The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or rapid deceleration. In the event of such an occurrence, the current video segment is automatically locked and protected from being overwritten by loop recording. This ensures critical incident footage is preserved.
Parking Mode
For continuous surveillance when your vehicle is parked, the dash camera features a parking mode. This mode allows the camera to monitor for impacts or motion even when the vehicle is off. Note: Activating parking mode typically requires a hardwire kit (sold separately) to provide continuous power to the camera without draining the car's battery.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
The dash camera includes built-in Wi-Fi, allowing you to connect it to a compatible iOS or Android smartphone. This feature enables instant playback of recordings, configuration of settings, and transfer of files directly to your mobile device via a dedicated application.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Lens: Regularly clean the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear video quality. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
- MicroSD Card Management: Periodically format your MicroSD card (e.g., once a month) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important files before formatting.
- Firmware Updates: Check the official Blaupunkt website for any available firmware updates to ensure your dash camera has the latest features and bug fixes.
- Temperature Considerations: Avoid exposing the dash camera to extreme temperatures for extended periods, as this can affect its performance and lifespan.
Troubleshooting
- Camera Not Powering On:
- Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the camera and the car's power outlet.
- Check if the car's power outlet is functioning (e.g., by plugging in another device).
- Verify the vehicle's ignition is on.
- Recording Issues (e.g., not recording, corrupted files):
- Ensure a MicroSD card is inserted and properly seated.
- Format the MicroSD card within the camera's settings.
- Try using a different, high-quality MicroSD card (Class 10 or higher recommended).
- Check if the card is full and loop recording is enabled.
- Wi-Fi Connectivity / App Issues:
Some users have reported difficulties finding or using the dedicated mobile application for this model. If you encounter issues connecting via Wi-Fi or accessing the app, please refer to the official Blaupunkt support channels or website for the most up-to-date information regarding app availability and compatibility. Ensure your smartphone's Wi-Fi is enabled and you are connecting to the camera's Wi-Fi network.
