4. Setup and Installation
The HARVIA Cilindro PC90 heater is designed for floor-standing installation within a sauna room. Ensure the sauna room dimensions are suitable for the heater's power output.
4.1. Placement
Position the heater according to the manufacturer's recommended safety distances from walls and benches. Ensure there is sufficient clearance for air circulation around the heater.

4.2. Electrical Connection
All electrical connections must be made by a licensed electrician. Connect the heater to the main power supply according to the wiring diagram provided with the heater and local electrical regulations. Ensure the correct voltage and amperage are supplied.
4.3. Sauna Stone Placement
Use only genuine HARVIA sauna stones or other suitable sauna stones. Arrange the stones loosely around the heating elements to allow for proper air circulation. Do not pack the stones too tightly, as this can impede airflow and affect heating efficiency.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Initial Start-up
Before the first use, heat the sauna heater for approximately one hour to burn off any manufacturing residues. Ensure the sauna room is well-ventilated during this process.
5.2. Turning On/Off
The HARVIA Cilindro PC90 is typically controlled by integrated mechanical timers and thermostats located at the base of the unit. Turn the timer knob to the desired heating time and the thermostat knob to set the desired temperature. The heater will begin to heat up.
To turn off the heater, turn the timer knob to the "OFF" position or allow the timer to complete its cycle.
5.3. Adding Water to Stones
Once the stones are hot, you can gently ladle water onto them to create steam (löyly). Use only clean tap water. Do not pour excessive amounts of water at once, as this can damage the heating elements.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
Regularly clean the exterior of the heater with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the heater is completely cool and disconnected from power before cleaning.
6.2. Sauna Stone Maintenance
Over time, sauna stones can crumble due to temperature fluctuations. Inspect the stones at least once a year, or more frequently with heavy use. Replace any broken or crumbling stones. Rearrange the remaining stones to ensure good air circulation.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater does not heat up. | No power supply; Timer not set; Thermostat set too low; Overheat protector tripped. | Check power connection; Set timer and thermostat correctly; Reset overheat protector (refer to specific heater instructions for location). |
