1. Product Overview

The Tchibo Automatic Espresso & Coffee Machine (Model 644060) is a fully automatic, bean-to-brew system designed for single-serving coffee and espresso. 3. Setup and First Use

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
2. Placement: Place the machine on a stable, level surface away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Ensure adequate ventilation.
3. Fill Water Tank: Remove the water tank from the side of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the 'MAX' line. Reinsert the tank securely.
4. Fill Bean Hopper: Open the lid of the bean hopper on top of the machine. Pour fresh whole coffee beans into the hopper. Close the lid.
5. Initial Rinse Cycle: Plug in the machine. Press the Power button. The Hot Water light will flash steadily, indicating the machine is running an automatic rinse cycle. Place a cup under the dispenser. Once preheating is complete, the machine will enter standby mode.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Brewing Espresso

1. Place Cup: Place your espresso cup under the coffee dispenser.
2. Select Espresso: Touch the Single or Double espresso icon on the LED panel. The machine will grind coffee beans first, then begin extracting espresso.
3. Use Boost Function (Optional): For a stronger coffee, press the Boost button before selecting your brew size.

4.2. Frothing Milk

1. Prepare Steam Wand: Ensure the steam wand is clean and positioned correctly.
2. Activate Steam: Touch the Steam icon. Wait for the Steam light to flash steadily, indicating it's ready.
3. Froth Milk: Submerge the steam wand into your milk pitcher. Touch the Steam icon again to start frothing your milk.
4. Clean Wand: After frothing, clean the steam wand with a damp cloth. Touch the Steam icon again to clear any remaining milk from the wand.

4.3. Customizing Coffee Volume

1. Enter Programming Mode: To customize the volume of a single cup of espresso, touch and hold the single cup icon for 5 seconds. For a double cup, touch and hold the double cup icon for 5 seconds.
2. Brew and Set: The selected cup indicator will flash, and the machine will start brewing. When the desired coffee volume is reached, touch the corresponding cup icon again.
3. Confirmation: The machine will beep twice to confirm that the single cup volume has been set.

NOTE: The adjustable volume ranges between 25ml/0.84oz and 250ml/8.45oz. The machine will fail to program volumes outside of this range.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning the Brewing Unit

1. Power Off: Ensure the machine is turned off and unplugged.
2. Remove Brewing Unit: Open the side access panel and carefully remove the brewing unit.
3. Rinse: Rinse the brewing unit thoroughly under running water. Do not use detergents.
4. Dry and Reinsert: Allow the unit to air dry completely before reinserting it into the machine.

5.2. Descaling

1. Prepare Descaling Solution: Follow the instructions on your descaling agent to prepare the solution.
2. Start Descaling Cycle: Refer to your machine's display for prompts to start the descaling process.
3. Rinse: After the descaling cycle, perform several rinse cycles with fresh water to remove any residual solution.
