1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your PEMP Android 10.25-inch Touch Screen Monitor, model AL-6283D. This device is designed to enhance the in-car entertainment and navigation experience for BMW X3 E83 models manufactured between 2004 and 2010.
The monitor features an Android 10 operating system, a Qualcomm 8-core processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB ROM, supporting both wireless CarPlay and wired Android Auto. It integrates with your vehicle's existing systems, including the ability to display the original car interface and utilize the iDrive knob for control.

4. Installation Guide
4.1. Important Safety Information
Please ensure that the product is installed only when the car is powered off!
4.2. Pre-Installation Check
Before proceeding with installation, confirm that your OEM car radio has an AUX menu. If your vehicle does not have an AUX menu, the audio from the Android system will not function. Do not purchase or install if an AUX menu is absent.

4.3. Step-by-Step Installation
For a visual guide, please refer to the official installation video below. Always ensure the vehicle's power is off before beginning any installation steps.

- Remove Air Conditioning Decorative Panel: Carefully pry and remove the air conditioning decorative panel. Disconnect any plugs on the back and set the panel aside.
- Remove Central Storage Box: Remove the fixing screw of the central storage box and then remove it.
- Remove Original Car Host: Remove the fixing screws of the original car host. Pull the host outwards, take it out, pinch the buckle of the harness, pull it back, and then take out the power harness.
- Route Cables: Pass the 4G antenna, GPS antenna, and USB cable through the passenger seat storage box to the back of the Android device.
- Connect iDrive Box (if applicable): Connect the wire of the iDrive box and install it.
- Connect Android Harness: Connect the Android harness, 4G antenna harness, GPS antenna harness, and USB harness to the back of the Android device. Connect the original LVDS cable to the Android device.
- Install Android Device: Install the Android device to the original car and fix it.
- Reinstall Original Host: Install the original host back to its position. Lock and fix the original host.
- Restore Panels: Restore the connection plugs on the back of the air conditioner panel and put the air conditioner panel back in place.
4.4. Troubleshooting Installation Issues
If you encounter a "NO SIGNAL" message after installing the Android device, follow these steps:
- Touch the car info menu.
- Go to Factory Settings > System > Vehicle.
- Select Car without OEM Monitor. (Factory password can be found in the manual).

If the iDrive knob is not working, ensure you have selected the correct setting in Factory Settings: Factory Settings > System > Vehicle > Car Without OEM Monitor. This setting is crucial if your car did not originally have an OEM screen.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Basic Operation
The PEMP Android monitor features a capacitive touch screen for intuitive control. You can also use the original iDrive knob (if installed) to navigate the Android interface.
5.2. Split Screen Function
The device supports split-screen functionality, allowing you to run two applications simultaneously.
- To activate split screen: In a music app, click the multi-function icon in the dropdown menu. Slide up/down to select an app, then drag it to the gray area on the left. Select another app from the right to complete the split screen.
- To exit split screen: Click in the middle of the screen and drag to the left to return to full-screen mode for the music app.

5.3. Quick Launch Bar Customization
The main interface features a quick launch bar on the left with five small icons. You can customize three of these icons to quickly access your favorite applications.
- To add an app: Long-press a small icon on the quick launch bar. A page with available apps will pop up. Select the desired app (e.g., Google browser, ZLINK for CarPlay, Google Maps).
- Note: The top two icons on the quick launch bar are fixed and cannot be replaced.

5.4. Default Music/Video App Setting
You can set your preferred music and video applications as the default playback apps.
- Go to Settings > System.
- Scroll down to find Select Music App and Select Video App.
- Choose your desired app (e.g., Spotify for music, YouTube for video).
5.5. CarPlay and Android Auto Usage
The monitor supports wireless CarPlay and wired Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration.

5.6. Calling with OEM Bluetooth and CarPlay
When both OEM Bluetooth and CarPlay are connected, there might be an issue with call audio. If you cannot hear the other person's voice during a call, you need to manually select the sound source from your mobile phone to OEM Bluetooth.
- If you disconnect the OEM Bluetooth, you do not need to set the sound source on the mobile phone when making a call.
- If you select Android Bluetooth, you cannot hear the normal call.

6. Maintenance and Care
6.1. General Cleaning
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and exterior of the device. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
6.2. Software Updates
PEMP continuously works to improve its products. If you wish to upgrade the system, please contact PEMP support via email. They will provide the upgraded software as soon as possible.

7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your PEMP Android monitor.
- No Audio: Ensure your vehicle has an AUX port and it is correctly selected as the audio input. If your E83 does not have an AUX port, audio from the Android system will not work.
- iDrive Knob Unresponsive/Sticky: This can be a hardware issue. Ensure proper installation and connection. If the issue persists, contact support.
- DVR Function Not Working: Some users have reported issues with the DVR function. Ensure cameras are connected to the correct input (e.g., 'TV in' instead of 'Aux in') and check app settings.
- App Permissions Resetting: Some apps (e.g., Spotify, Amazon Music) may require re-setting background permissions after the car is turned off. This is a software-related issue.
- Distortion Noises through Car Speakers: If you hear distortion when the BMW radio is off, but not when playing music, it might be related to the auxiliary cord connection. Ensure the auxiliary adapter is functioning correctly.
