Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your food processor.
- Unplug Before Cleaning: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Work Bowl and Accessories: The work bowl, lid, and all blades/discs are dishwasher safe (top rack recommended) or can be hand washed with warm, soapy water. The "Snap and Go" design and leak-resistant bowl facilitate easy cleaning.
- Motor Base: Wipe the motor base clean with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor base in water or other liquids.
- Storage: All blades and discs can be stored neatly within the in-bowl storage caddy, which nests directly inside the 13-cup bowl, saving counter space.
Troubleshooting
If your food processor is not operating as expected, consider the following common issues:
- Unit Not Starting: Ensure the work bowl and lid are correctly assembled and securely latched. The food processor has safety interlocks that prevent operation if components are not properly aligned.
- Inconsistent Processing: Check that the correct blade or disc is installed for the task. Ensure ingredients are cut to an appropriate size for the feed tube. Avoid overfilling the work bowl.
- Motor Overheating: If the motor stops during operation, it may be due to overheating. Unplug the unit and let it cool down for at least 30 minutes before resuming use. Reduce the load or processing time for future tasks.
- Excessive Noise/Vibration: Ensure the unit is placed on a stable, flat surface. Verify that all components are securely attached.
