5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Adjusting the Seat and Backrest

  • Swivel Seat: To change the seat direction (parent-facing or forward-facing), locate the release mechanism (usually a lever or button) underneath the seat. Engage the mechanism, rotate the seat to the desired position, and ensure it locks securely in place.
  • Adjustable Backrest: The backrest can be reclined for your child's comfort. Use the adjustment lever or button on the side or rear of the backrest to set the desired angle. Ensure it clicks into a locked position.

5.2. Using Footrests and Pedals

  • Foldable Footrest: For younger children who cannot reach the pedals, extend the foldable footrest. When not needed, it can be folded away.
  • Separate Footrests: An additional set of footrests is provided for very small children, offering a more comfortable and secure position. Attach them as per the instructions.
  • Lockable Pedals: To prevent the child's feet from getting caught while the tricycle is being pushed, engage the pedal lock mechanism (usually a button or switch on the front wheel hub). This disengages the pedals from the wheel. To allow the child to pedal, disengage the lock.
  • Free-Wheel Function: This function allows the front wheel to spin independently of the pedals. Engage it when pushing the tricycle so the child's feet don't have to move with the pedals. Disengage it when the child is ready to pedal independently.

  • Push Handle Control: The comfortable push handle allows parents to steer the front wheel of the tricycle. Gently move the handle left or right to guide the tricycle's direction.
  • Rear Wheel Brakes: To engage the brakes, push down on the brake levers located near the rear wheels. Ensure both brakes are engaged when parking the tricycle to prevent accidental movement.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the frame and plastic parts with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners. The fabric parts (seat padding, canopy) can be spot cleaned or removed for gentle hand washing if specified by fabric care labels.
  • Lubrication: Periodically check and lubricate moving parts like wheel axles and pedal mechanisms with a silicone-based lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect all screws, bolts, and fasteners to ensure they are tight. Check for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage on the frame, wheels, and fabric components. Replace damaged parts immediately.
  • Storage: Store the tricycle in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent material degradation.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Wheels not turning smoothly: Check for debris (dirt, hair) caught in the axles. Ensure the free-wheel function is engaged or disengaged as desired. Lubricate axles if necessary.
  • Tricycle difficult to steer: Ensure the push handle is securely attached and not bent. Check if the front wheel is locked or obstructed.
  • Seat not swiveling: Check for any obstructions underneath the seat. Ensure the swivel mechanism is fully disengaged before attempting to rotate and fully engaged to lock.
  • Pedals not moving: Check if the pedal lock mechanism is engaged. Disengage it to allow the child to pedal.
  • Tricycle unstable: Ensure all assembly points are securely fastened. Check that the wheels are properly attached and not wobbly. Do not exceed the maximum weight limit.
