1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Lorex N4K2SD-84WB Surveillance System. This system includes a Fusion 4K 2TB NVR (N842A82) and four 4K 8MP Active Deterrence Bullet Cameras (E892AB). Please read this manual thoroughly before beginning installation and retain it for future reference.
The Lorex N4K2SD-84WB system is designed to provide comprehensive security monitoring with advanced features such as 4K Ultra HD resolution, Smart Motion Detection, Active Deterrence, and two-way talk audio. The NVR offers local recording without monthly fees and supports integration with the Lorex Home App for remote viewing and notifications.

3. System Setup
3.1 NVR Connection
Connect the NVR to a power source, a monitor (via HDMI or VGA), and your network router using an Ethernet cable. Attach the included USB mouse for navigation.

- Connect the NVR to a monitor using the provided HDMI cable.
- Connect the USB mouse to a USB port on the NVR.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from the NVR's network port to your router.
- Connect the NVR to a power outlet using the power adapter. The NVR will power on automatically.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial setup wizard.
3.2 Camera Installation
Select appropriate locations for your cameras, ensuring they have a clear field of view and are within range of power and network connections (if using PoE, a single Ethernet cable provides both). The cameras are designed for outdoor and indoor use.

- Mounting Location: Choose a location that provides the desired viewing angle and is secure. Avoid direct sunlight into the lens.
- Drilling: Use the provided mounting template to mark and drill holes for the camera base.
- Secure Camera: Attach the camera base securely to the mounting surface using the screws.
- Adjust Angle: Loosen the adjustment screw to position the camera for optimal coverage, then tighten to secure.
- Connect Cameras: Connect each camera to an available PoE port on the NVR using an Ethernet cable. The cameras will power on and automatically connect to the NVR.

3.3 Lorex Home App Setup
The Lorex Home App allows for remote viewing, motion notifications, and system control from your mobile device.
- Download the Lorex Home App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Create an account or log in if you already have one.
- Tap the '+' icon to add your device.
- Scan the QR code located on your NVR or manually enter the device ID.
- Follow the in-app instructions to complete the pairing process.
4. Operating Your System
4.1 Smart Motion Detection
Your Lorex system features Smart Motion Detection, which can differentiate between people and vehicles, reducing false alarms. This allows for more precise alerts and recording triggers.
- Access the NVR menu or Lorex Home App settings to configure motion detection zones and sensitivity for each camera.
- Enable person and vehicle detection for specific areas to optimize alerts.
4.2 Active Deterrence
The 4K Active Deterrence cameras are equipped with LED warning lights and a remote-activated siren to deter unwanted visitors.
- Motion-Activated Lights: Configure the LED warning lights to activate automatically when a person or vehicle is detected within a specified zone.
- Remote Siren: Use the Lorex Home App to manually activate the siren from your mobile device.
4.3 Two-Way Talk Audio
Each camera includes a built-in microphone and speaker, enabling two-way communication with visitors or intruders.

- Access the live view of a camera through the Lorex Home App.
- Tap the microphone icon to speak and the speaker icon to listen.
4.4 Color Night Vision and IR Night Vision
The cameras provide enhanced nighttime clarity through Color Night Vision in low-light conditions and traditional IR night vision in total darkness.
- Color Night Vision: Utilizes ambient light to provide full-color video at night, up to 150ft (46m).
- IR Night Vision: In complete darkness, the cameras automatically switch to infrared mode, providing clear black and white video up to 98ft (30m).
4.5 Lorex Fusion Compatibility
The NVR is part of the Lorex Fusion Collection, allowing you to connect up to two Lorex Wi-Fi products (such as Wi-Fi cameras, doorbells, or floodlights) to open channels on your NVR. This expands your security coverage and integrates devices into a single system.
- Refer to the Lorex Home App or NVR settings for instructions on pairing compatible Wi-Fi devices.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Hard Drive Management
The NVR includes a 2TB hard drive for local storage. The system is configured to overwrite the oldest recordings automatically once the hard drive is full.
- Regularly back up important footage to an external USB drive if needed.
- Check the hard drive status periodically through the NVR's system settings.
5.2 Cleaning
Keep your cameras and NVR clean to ensure optimal performance.
- Cameras: Gently wipe the camera lens and housing with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- NVR: Ensure the NVR's vents are free from dust to prevent overheating. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning the exterior.
6. Troubleshooting

6.1 No Video Display
- Ensure the NVR is powered on and the power adapter is securely connected.
- Verify the HDMI/VGA cable connection between the NVR and the monitor.
- Check the monitor's input source setting.
6.2 Camera Not Recording/Offline
- Confirm the Ethernet cable connecting the camera to the NVR is secure and undamaged.
- Check if the camera's PoE port on the NVR is active.
- Restart the NVR and the camera (if possible by disconnecting/reconnecting power).
- Ensure the camera is enabled in the NVR's camera settings.
6.3 Remote Viewing Issues
- Verify the NVR is connected to the internet and has a stable network connection.
- Ensure your mobile device has a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data).
