4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Nasedal airbrush kit for first use:

  1. Connect the Air Hose: Screw one end of the 1/8" air hose to the airbrush's hose connector. Ensure it is finger-tight to prevent air leaks.
  2. Connect to Compressor: Screw the other end of the air hose to the 'Interface' port on the air compressor.
  3. Install Air Filter (Optional but Recommended): If using the included air filter, connect it between the air hose and the airbrush or between the compressor and the air hose. This helps remove moisture from the air.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the 'Power Hole' on the compressor, then plug the adapter into a suitable electrical outlet (110-230V).
  5. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, fill the airbrush cup with clean water or appropriate airbrush cleaner and spray it through to ensure no manufacturing residues are present.

5. Operating Instructions

This section details how to operate your Nasedal airbrush kit effectively.

  1. Power On: Press the 'On/Off' touch button on the compressor. The compressor will start and the indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Select Pressure Mode: Press the 'Mode' touch button to cycle between the two available pressure settings: 20 PSI and 25 PSI. Choose the appropriate pressure for your paint and application.
  3. Prepare Paint: Ensure your paint is properly thinned to a milk-like consistency. Use the dropper to transfer the thinned paint into the 7cc gravity feeding cup of the airbrush.
  4. Dual-Action Operation:
    • To release air only, press down on the dual-action switch.
    • To release paint, pull back on the dual-action switch while still pressing down. The further you pull back, the more paint will be released.
  5. Adjust Paint Flow: Use the adjusting screw at the rear of the airbrush to limit how far back the trigger can pull, thereby controlling the maximum paint flow.
  6. Auto-Stop Function: The compressor features an auto-stop function. When you release the airbrush trigger (stop spraying), the compressor will automatically turn off. When you press the trigger again, it will restart. This conserves energy and reduces noise during pauses.
  7. Practice: Before working on your final project, practice on a scrap surface to get a feel for the airbrush's control and paint flow.

6. Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and performance of your airbrush kit.

6.1 Airbrush Cleaning (After Each Use)

  1. Empty Paint Cup: Pour out any remaining paint from the gravity cup.
  2. Flush with Cleaner: Fill the cup with appropriate airbrush cleaner or water (depending on paint type). Spray through until the spray is clear.
  3. Back-flush: Cover the nozzle with your finger or a cap and pull back the trigger. This will force air back into the cup, bubbling the cleaner and helping to dislodge paint from the cup and feed channel. Repeat several times.
  4. Disassemble Nozzle and Needle: Carefully remove the needle, nozzle cap, and nozzle. Use the mini wrench if necessary for the nozzle.
  5. Clean Components: Use the provided cleaning brushes and needles to thoroughly clean the inside of the nozzle, needle, and airbrush body. Pay special attention to the paint channel and air passages.
  6. Wipe Down: Wipe all components with a clean cloth dampened with cleaner.
  7. Reassemble: Carefully reassemble the airbrush. Do not overtighten the nozzle.

6.2 Air Filter Maintenance

The mini air filter helps to trap moisture. Periodically check the filter for accumulated moisture. If water droplets are visible, unscrew the bottom of the filter to drain the water. Reattach securely.
