  • Always wear a helmet that fits correctly and is securely fastened.
  • Never modify your helmet in any way, as this can compromise its protective capabilities.
  • Do not expose your helmet to gasoline, cleaning fluids, paints, or other solvents, as these can damage the shell and liner materials.
  • Replace your helmet after any impact, even if visible damage is not apparent.

3. Setup and Fitting

3.1 Proper Helmet Fit

A correctly fitting helmet is crucial for safety and comfort. Use the size chart below as a guide, but always try on the helmet to ensure a snug fit.

US LS2 Helmet Size Chart
Brand SizeHead Circumference (in)
X-Small20 - 20.5
Small20.9 - 21.3
Medium21.6 - 22
Large22.5 - 22.9
X-Large23.3 - 23.6
2X-Large24 - 24.4
3X-Large24.8 - 25.3

To check for proper fit:

  1. Place the helmet on your head. It should feel snug around your entire head, with no excessive pressure points.
  2. Fasten the chin strap securely.
  3. Try to move the helmet from side to side and up and down. Your skin should move with the helmet, and the helmet should not slide freely.
  4. Ensure your field of vision is not obstructed.

3.2 Visor and Sun Shield Operation

The Challenger GT features a clear outer visor and an internal drop-down sun shield.

  • Main Visor: The main visor can be opened and closed using the tab located at the bottom center. It features a quick-release mechanism for easy removal and installation (refer to the LS2 website for detailed instructions on visor removal/installation). The visor is 3mm thick and optically correct.
  • Internal Sun Shield: The Twin Shield System allows you to deploy a tinted sun shield. Operate the lever on the left side of the helmet to raise or lower the sun shield. This system is designed for easy operation even with gloved hands.

4. Operating Your Helmet

4.1 Ventilation System

The Challenger GT is equipped with an advanced ventilation system to enhance rider comfort.

  • Chin Vent: Located on the chin bar, this vent directs airflow across the inside of the visor to help prevent fogging and provide fresh air to the rider's face. Slide the control to open or close.
  • Top Vents: Multiple intake vents on the top of the helmet allow air to flow through internal channels. Slide the controls to open or close these vents.
  • Rear Exhaust Vents: The Venturi vents on the top rear chimney are active, meaning they can be opened or closed to allow hot air to escape, creating a negative pressure zone that pulls air through the helmet.

4.2 Retention System

The helmet features a quick-release chin strap for secure fastening and easy removal. Ensure the strap is always securely fastened and adjusted for a snug fit under your chin before riding.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Helmet Shell

Clean the helmet shell with a soft cloth, mild soap, and lukewarm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the helmet's finish and materials.

5.2 Cleaning the Visor and Sun Shield

Use a soft, clean cloth and lukewarm water to clean the visor and sun shield. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used. Rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not use abrasive materials or chemical cleaners, which can scratch or damage the optical properties.

5.3 Interior Liner Care

The interior comfort liner is removable and washable. Carefully detach the liner components from the helmet. Hand wash with mild soap and water, or machine wash on a gentle cycle in a mesh laundry bag. Air dry completely before reinstalling. Ensure all components are dry to prevent mildew.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Visor Fogging

If your visor fogs up, ensure the chin vent is open to direct airflow across the visor. The Challenger GT is also designed to accommodate a Pinlock anti-fog insert (sold separately), which can significantly reduce fogging in various conditions.

6.2 Loose or Damaged Components

Regularly inspect your helmet for any signs of wear, damage, or loose components. If any part of the helmet appears damaged or compromised, discontinue use immediately and contact LS2 customer support or an authorized dealer for inspection and potential replacement.
