1. Product Overview

The Thule T2 Pro XT/XTR Hitch Bike Rack is engineered for secure and convenient transportation of bicycles. This heavy-duty rack features integrated wheels for easy maneuverability when not attached to a vehicle and a HitchSwitch lever for quick access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. It accommodates a wide range of bike styles and sizes, including carbon frames, mountain bikes, e-bikes, and fat bikes, with a maximum capacity of 60 lbs per bike.

3. Setup (Installation)

The AutoAttach system simplifies the installation process. Ensure your vehicle has a compatible 1.25" hitch receiver.

1. Insert Rack into Hitch: Slide the rack's hitch arm into your vehicle's 1.25" receiver. The AutoAttach system will engage, securing the rack.
2. Tighten Locking Knob: Turn the integrated locking knob clockwise until the rack is firmly secured in the hitch receiver. This eliminates wobble.
3. Lock the Rack: Use the provided key to lock the knob, preventing unauthorized removal of the rack from your vehicle.
4. Adjust Wheel Trays: Position the wheel trays to accommodate your bike's wheelbase. The trays can be adjusted along the main arms.
5. Prepare Front Wheel Clamps: Ensure the front wheel clamps are in the open, upright position, ready to receive the bike's front wheel.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Loading Bikes

1. Lower Front Wheel Clamp: Ensure the front wheel clamp is fully extended and open.
2. Place Bike: Lift your bicycle onto the rack, positioning the wheels into the designated trays.
3. Secure Front Wheel: Bring the front wheel clamp up and over the front tire, pressing it down firmly until it secures the wheel without touching the fork crown.
4. Strap Rear Wheel: Feed the rear wheel strap through the spokes and pull it tight to secure the rear wheel in its tray.
5. Integrated Cable Lock: Pull out the integrated cable lock from the front wheel clamp. Loop it through your bike's frame or fork and lock it with your SKS key.

4.2 Accessing Rear of Vehicle (HitchSwitch Lever)

To access your vehicle's rear cargo area without removing the bikes, use the HitchSwitch lever:

1. Locate Lever: The HitchSwitch lever is typically located at the base of the rack, near the hitch connection.
2. Pull Lever: Pull the lever to release the rack's locking mechanism.
3. Tilt Rack: Gently tilt the entire rack, with bikes loaded, downwards and away from the vehicle.
4. Access Trunk: Once tilted, you can open your vehicle's trunk or hatch.
5. Return to Upright: After accessing your cargo, lift the rack back into its upright position until it clicks securely into place.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Thule T2 Pro XT/XTR Hitch Bike Rack.

• Cleaning: Clean the rack regularly with mild soap and water, especially after exposure to road salt, dirt, or sand. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
• Lubrication: Periodically lubricate moving parts, such as the HitchSwitch lever mechanism and wheel clamp pivots, with a silicone-based lubricant.
• Inspection: Before each use, inspect all straps, bolts, and moving parts for wear, damage, or looseness. Ensure all locking mechanisms function correctly.
• Storage: When not in use, store the rack in a dry, protected area to prevent rust and prolong its lifespan. The integrated wheels make moving it easy.

• Rack Wobbles in Hitch: Ensure the locking knob is fully tightened. The AutoAttach system is designed to minimize wobble. If wobble persists, check your hitch receiver for excessive play or damage.
• Bikes Not Secure: Verify that front wheel clamps are pressed down firmly and rear wheel straps are tightened. Ensure integrated cable locks are engaged. Adjust bike spacing if bikes are interfering with each other.
• HitchSwitch Lever Sticking: Clean and lubricate the lever mechanism. Ensure no debris is obstructing its movement.
