2. Setup and Battery Installation

The Hyper Tough Emergency Light comes ready for use with included batteries. Follow these steps for initial setup or battery replacement.

2.1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
2. Using a small screwdriver (not included), carefully unscrew the retaining screw(s) on the battery cover.
3. Remove the battery compartment cover.
4. Insert 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
5. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw(s).

2.2. Attaching the Carabiner

The included carabiner can be attached to the loop at the top of the light for convenient carrying or hanging.

• Open the gate of the carabiner.
• Hook the carabiner through the small loop located at the top of the light.
• Close the gate securely.

3. Operating Instructions

The Hyper Tough Emergency Light features a single power button to cycle through its various lighting modes.

3.1. Power Button Functions

The red triangular button on the front of the light controls all functions.

1. To Turn On: Press the power button once. The light will activate in the first mode (High white light).
2. To Cycle Modes: Press the power button repeatedly to cycle through the 8 available modes in the following order:
   • High white light (200 lumens)
   • High red light
   • Low red light
   • Rotate white and red (alternating)
   • Single blink (red)
   • Double blink (red)
   • SOS rescue signal (red)
   • Off
3. To Turn Off: Continue pressing the button until the light turns off, or hold the button down for approximately 3 seconds from any mode to turn it off directly.

3.2. Magnetic Attachment

Utilize the strong magnetic base to secure the light to any ferrous metal surface. This is ideal for hands-free operation, such as working under a car hood or signaling traffic from a vehicle's side panel.

• Cleaning: Wipe the light with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Storage: Store the light in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
• Water Resistance: The light is IPX4 rain and weather proof, meaning it is resistant to splashing water from any direction. It is not designed for submersion.
• Durability: The light is crush resistant, but avoid subjecting it to extreme impacts or dropping it from significant heights.

5.1. Light Does Not Turn On

• Check Batteries: Ensure the 3 AAA batteries are inserted correctly with the proper polarity.
• Replace Batteries: If the batteries are old or depleted, replace them with new ones.
• Battery Contact: Verify that the battery contacts are clean and free of corrosion. Gently clean them if necessary.

5.2. Light is Dim or Flickering

• Low Batteries: This is typically an indication of low battery power. Replace the 3 AAA batteries.

5.3. Light Modes Are Not Cycling Correctly

• Button Malfunction: Ensure the power button is not stuck. Press it firmly and release.
