  • Do not disassemble or modify the charger or batteries.
  • Only charge Ni-MH/Ni-CD AA/AAA rechargeable batteries. Do not attempt to charge alkaline, carbon-zinc, or other battery types, as this may lead to leakage, rupture, or explosion.
  • Keep the charger and batteries away from water, fire, and high temperatures.
  • Avoid short-circuiting the batteries or charger terminals.
  • Do not expose the charger to direct sunlight or extreme humidity.
  • Ensure proper ventilation during charging.

4. Setup

4.1 First Use

For optimal performance, it is recommended to fully charge the batteries before their first use. The batteries included are pre-charged, but a full charge cycle is beneficial.

4.2 Connecting the Charger

The EBL 819 Charger offers two convenient ways to connect to a power source:

  1. Built-in USB Charging Cable: Connect the integrated USB-A cable directly to any standard USB power adapter (e.g., wall charger, computer USB port, power bank).
  2. Micro USB Input Port: Use a separate Micro USB cable (not included) to connect the charger to a 5V/2A power adapter. It is recommended to use a 2A adapter for optimal charging speed; do not use a 1.0A adapter.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 LCD Screen Indicators

The intelligent LCD screen provides real-time status updates for each battery slot:

  • Charging Process: The battery icon for the respective slot will flash, indicating that charging is in progress.
  • Fully Charged: The battery icon will be fully displayed and stop flashing, indicating the battery is completely charged. The charger will automatically stop charging to prevent overcharge.
  • Abnormal Charging/Broken Battery: The battery icon will flash rapidly, and an alarm may sound, indicating a problem with the battery or an improper insertion.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Charger

Before cleaning, always unplug the charger from the power source and remove all batteries. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the charger. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6.2 Battery Storage

Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, it is best to store Ni-MH batteries with a partial charge (around 50%).

6.3 Battery Lifespan and ProCyco Technology

EBL batteries feature ProCyco (Professional Recycle) technology, which helps maximize their power performance and extends their cycle life. These batteries are designed for low self-discharge, retaining a significant portion of their charge even after extended periods of non-use. For example, they are designed to maintain 80% of their capacity after 3 years of storage.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
LCD screen not lighting up.No power connection or faulty power source.Ensure the charger is properly plugged into a working USB port or power adapter. Try a different power source or cable.
Battery icon flashing rapidly / Alarm sounds.Abnormal battery (e.g., non-rechargeable, damaged, or incorrect type) or incorrect polarity.Remove the battery. Check if it's a compatible Ni-MH/Ni-CD rechargeable battery and ensure correct polarity. If the issue persists, the battery may be faulty.
Batteries not charging fully.Low power input (e.g., 1A adapter instead of 2A) or aged batteries.Use a 5V/2A power adapter. Batteries have a limited lifespan; consider replacing very old batteries.
Charger or batteries feel warm during charging.Normal operation.A slight warmth is normal. The charger has built-in heat dissipation and overheat protection. If it becomes excessively hot, unplug immediately and contact support.
