3.2. Physical Installation

1. Mounting: Place the switch on a stable, flat surface or install it in a standard 19-inch equipment rack using the provided rackmount kit. Ensure adequate ventilation around the device.
2. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the power input on the rear panel of the switch and then to a suitable AC power outlet.
3. Network Connection:
   • Connect your network devices (e.g., computers, servers, IP cameras, access points) to the 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports (ports 1-8) using standard Ethernet cables.
   • For high-speed uplinks or long-distance connections, insert compatible SFP+ transceivers into the SFP+ uplink ports (ports 9-12) and connect fiber optic cables.

Once connected, the switch will power on automatically. Observe the Power LED on the front panel; it should illuminate to indicate successful power-up. The switch will perform a self-test, and then the port LEDs will indicate link status and activity.

  • Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the switch port and the connected device.

• Slow Network Performance:
  • Check for network congestion.

• PoE Device Not Powering On:
  • Ensure the connected device is PoE-compatible (802.3af/at/bt).
  • Check the PoE Mode LED for the specific port; if it's off, PoE is not being delivered.
  • Verify the total PoE budget (420W) is not exceeded by all connected devices.
  • Try a different PoE port or cable.

6.4. Factory Reset

If issues persist, you may need to perform a factory reset. Locate the Reset button on the front panel. With the device powered on, use a paperclip or similar pointed object to press and hold the Reset button for approximately 10 seconds until the LEDs flash, then release. The switch will reboot with default settings.
