Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of your BAK Revolver X4s tonneau cover. Please follow these steps carefully.
1. Measure Your Truck Bed
Before beginning installation, ensure you have the correct bed size. Measure the length of your truck bed from the bulkhead (front of the bed) to the inside edge of the tailgate. Round to the nearest inch. For example, 67 inches is typically referred to as a 5.5-foot bed.

2. Unpack and Prepare Components
Carefully unpack all components. The package includes the tonneau cover assembly, side rails, bulkhead seals, and a hardware kit. Ensure all parts are present before proceeding.

3. Install Bulkhead Seal
Clean the top surface of your truck's bulkhead thoroughly to ensure proper adhesion. Apply the appropriate bulkhead seal (thicker for no liner/spray-in, thinner for plastic drop-in liner) along the edge of the bulkhead.
4. Position and Clamp Side Rails
Place the driver's side rail with the slotted bracket facing the cab. Push it forward against the bulkhead. Loosely attach one clamp near the cab end (at least 12 inches from the end), one in the center, and one near the tailgate end (within 12 inches of the end). Ensure the rail is square against the bed rail and the clamp's teeth fully engage the ribs. Tighten each clamp to 10 ft-lbs using a 9/16-inch torque wrench. Repeat for the passenger side rail.
5. Mount Cover Assembly
Rest the rolled cover assembly on top of the rails near the tailgate. Unroll the cover towards the cab, removing any packaging materials. Roll the front edge of the cover slightly towards the tailgate and install the two provided mounting bolts into the keyed slots of the cover's front slats, aligning them with the holes in the slotted bracket on the cover rail. Secure with a rubber washer, large flat washer, and a lock knob. Do not fully tighten the knobs yet.
6. Adjust and Finalize Alignment
Ensure the cover fits correctly between the rails and rolls freely. With the cover closed, verify an approximate 1/8-inch gap between the edge of the cover rail and the rolling cover itself on both sides. Adjust the cover side-to-side as needed to achieve this gap and center the cover. Once aligned, fully tighten the four locking knobs underneath the front of the cover. Install the strap clamps as far forward as possible on both side rails and tighten to 10 ft-lbs using a 9/16-inch torque wrench. Do not overtighten.

Operating Instructions
Opening the Cover
To open the cover, first unlock and open your tailgate. Pull either of the release cables located on both sides of the rear of the cover to disengage the automatic latching system. Roll the cover forward towards the cab. Secure the rolled cover using the strap clamps before driving the vehicle. This provides full bed access while maintaining rear visibility.

Closing the Cover
To close the cover, release the strap clamps and unroll the cover towards the tailgate. Press down firmly at the end of the cover to engage the latches and secure it in place. Locking your tailgate will further secure your bed's contents from weather and theft.
