The GIMA Bluetooth Arm Blood Pressure Monitor is a digital sphygmomanometer designed for accurate measurement of blood pressure and heart rate. 3. Safety Information

Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device. Keep it for future reference. This device is a medical product and should be used in accordance with these instructions. Consult your physician for interpretation of blood pressure measurements. Do not self-diagnose or self-treat based on measurements from this device.

• Do not use the device on infants or individuals unable to express consent.
• Avoid using the device in environments with strong electromagnetic interference.
• Ensure the cuff size is appropriate for your arm circumference (22-42 cm).
• Keep the device away from water and extreme temperatures.

4. Setup and Initial Use

4.1 Charging the Device

The monitor comes with a built-in rechargeable 3.7V - 1000 mHA lithium polymer battery. Before first use, fully charge the device using the provided AC adapter. The battery life is approximately 2 years, with a charging capacity of up to 300 times.

4.2 Cuff Placement

1. Ensure your arm is bare or has thin clothing.
2. Place the cuff on your upper arm, approximately 1-2 cm above the elbow joint.
3. The air tube (if applicable, though this model is tubeless, ensure the sensor area is correctly positioned) should be aligned with the brachial artery on the inside of your arm.
4. Wrap the cuff snugly around your arm, but not too tightly.

4.3 GIMApp Installation and Bluetooth Pairing

The GIMA monitor is designed to connect with the GIMApp for smartphone integration, allowing you to track and manage your health data. The app is compatible with iOS 8 or later (e.g., iPhone 4S, iPhone 5/5C/5S, iPhone 6/6 Plus and newer) and Android 4.3 or later.

1. Download GIMApp: Search for "GIMApp" on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and install it on your smartphone.
2. Registration: Open the GIMApp and complete the personal profile registration.
3. Pairing: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. Turn on the GIMA Blood Pressure Monitor. In the GIMApp, navigate to the device pairing section. The app should detect the monitor. Select the device to pair.
4. New Measurement: Once paired, you can initiate new measurements directly from the app and view your readings.
5. Health Report: The app allows you to generate health reports based on your recorded measurements.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Taking a Measurement

1. Sit comfortably with your back supported and feet flat on the floor.
2. Place your arm on a flat surface so the cuff is at heart level.
3. Press the Power button to turn on the device.
4. Select the desired user (User 1 or User 2) using the dedicated buttons.
5. The cuff will automatically inflate and then slowly deflate, taking the measurement.
6. Your systolic (SYS), diastolic (DIA) blood pressure, and pulse (Pul) will be displayed on the LCD screen.

5.2 Display Information

The 86x24 mm backlit LCD screen displays the following information:

• SYS: Systolic Blood Pressure (mmHg)
• DIA: Diastolic Blood Pressure (mmHg)
• Pul: Pulse Rate (beats per minute - bpm)
• Irregular Heartbeat Detection: An icon will appear if an irregular heartbeat is detected.
• Excessive Body Motion Detection: An icon will appear if excessive movement is detected during measurement, which may affect accuracy.
• Date and Time: Current date and time.
• Low Battery Indicator: An icon will show when the battery is low and needs charging.
• Memory Groups: The device supports 2 user groups, each with memory for past readings.

5.3 Memory Function

The device stores measurements for two users. Use the 'Interrogation' button to review past readings for the selected user.

6. Maintenance

• Clean the device and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
• Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts.
• The cuff is made of nylon on the outside and polyester on the inside (contact with skin).

7. Troubleshooting

• Device not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the AC adapter and try again.
• Bluetooth connectivity issues:
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and the monitor is powered on.
  • Verify that your smartphone's operating system meets the compatibility requirements (iOS 8+ or Android 4.3+).
  • Try restarting both the monitor and your smartphone.
  • Ensure the GIMApp is updated to the latest version.
  • If previously paired, try unpairing and re-pairing the device through your phone's Bluetooth settings and the GIMApp.
  • Move closer to the device to ensure a strong Bluetooth signal.
• Inaccurate readings:
  • Ensure correct cuff placement and size.
  • Remain still and silent during measurement. Avoid talking or moving.
  • Ensure you are relaxed and have rested for at least 5 minutes before measurement.
  • Avoid measuring immediately after exercise, bathing, or consuming caffeine/alcohol.
• Error codes on display: Refer to the full manual for specific error code meanings.
