EverBrite Motion Sensor Night Lights (3-Pack) Instruction Manual

Model: B08Y8QCZ6M

1. Introduction

The EverBrite Motion Sensor Night Lights provide automatic, soft warm illumination for various indoor spaces. Designed for convenience and energy efficiency, these battery-powered LED lights enhance safety and comfort in dark areas such as hallways, stairs, bedrooms, and closets. The integrated motion sensor activates the light only when movement is detected in low-light conditions, conserving battery life.

3.2 Mounting Options

The EverBrite Motion Sensor Night Lights offer two installation methods:

Option 1: Mounting with Double-Sided Tape

  1. Clean the desired mounting surface to ensure it is dry and free of dust or grease.
  2. Peel the protective backing from one side of the double-sided tape.
  3. Apply the tape firmly to the back of the night light's mounting plate.
  4. Peel the remaining protective backing from the tape.
  5. Press the night light firmly onto the desired surface for at least 30 seconds.

Note: For optimal adhesion, ensure the surface is smooth and clean. The adhesive may be less effective on textured or uneven surfaces.

Option 2: Mounting with Screws

  1. Determine the desired mounting location.
  2. Using the mounting plate as a template, mark the positions for two drill holes.
  3. Drill two holes at the marked positions. For drywall, insert the provided anchors into the holes.
  4. Align the mounting plate with the drilled holes and fasten it to the wall using the provided screws.
  5. Slide the main night light unit onto the secured mounting plate until it locks into place.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Motion Sensor Functionality

The EverBrite Motion Sensor Night Light is equipped with a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor and a light sensor. It operates in the following manner:

  • Automatic Activation: The light will only turn on when motion is detected AND the ambient light conditions are dark enough (approximately 0-20 lux). This prevents the light from activating unnecessarily during daylight hours, conserving battery life.
  • Motion Detection Range: The sensor can detect motion from up to 15 feet (5 meters) away, with a perceptual angle of 150 degrees.
  • Automatic Deactivation: After motion is no longer detected, the light will automatically turn off after a preset duration of either 30 or 45 seconds.

4.2 Setting the Auto-Off Timer

Each night light features a switch to select the auto-off duration:

  • Locate the small slide switch on the side or back of the night light unit.
  • Slide the switch to select either "30s" for a 30-second auto-off delay or "45s" for a 45-second auto-off delay after motion ceases.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

When the light output diminishes or the light fails to activate, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps outlined in Section 3.1 "Battery Installation" to replace the 3 AA batteries in each unit.

Recommendation: Use high-quality alkaline batteries for optimal performance and longevity.

5.2 Cleaning

To clean the night light, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the unit or its electronic components.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Light does not turn on.
  • Batteries are depleted or incorrectly installed.
  • Ambient light is too bright.
  • No motion detected within range.
  • Replace batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  • Ensure the installation area is sufficiently dark (0-20 lux).
  • Move within the sensor's detection range (up to 15 ft, 150°).
Light stays on continuously or turns off too slowly.
  • Continuous motion detected.
  • Incorrect auto-off timer setting.
  • Ensure no constant movement is within the sensor's range.
  • Verify the slide switch is set to the desired 30s or 45s duration.
Light falls off the wall (tape mounting).
  • Surface was not clean or smooth.
  • Adhesive tape is worn or insufficient.
  • Re-clean the surface and apply new, strong double-sided adhesive tape.
  • Consider using the screw mounting option for a more secure installation.
