4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Assembling the Microphone Stand

1. Attach the adjustable suspension boom arm to a stable surface using its clamp.
2. Secure the microphone shock mount to the end of the boom arm.
3. Gently place the BM-800 condenser microphone into the shock mount.
4. Attach the pop filter to the boom arm, positioning it a few inches in front of the microphone.
5. Place the foam windscreen cap over the microphone for additional plosive and wind noise reduction.

4.2 Connecting the V8 Sound Card

The V8 sound card offers various connection options depending on your setup. Refer to the diagrams below for common configurations.

1. Microphone Connection: Connect the BM-800 condenser microphone to the 'Condenser Mic' input on the V8 sound card using the provided XLR to 3.5mm cable.
2. Power/Charging: Connect the sound card to a power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB charger) using the 'Charging' port.
3. Output Devices: Connect your headphones to the 'Headphone' port and/or earphones to the 'Earphone' port for monitoring.
4. Input Devices (Optional):
   • Live Streaming (Mobile): Connect your smartphone(s) to the 'LIVE1' and/or 'LIVE2' ports using the appropriate audio cables.
   • Backing Track/Instrument: Connect a device for backing music or an instrument to the 'Backing Track' port.
   • Computer Connection: Connect the sound card to your computer via the USB 'Charging' port for data transfer and power.

5. Operating Instructions

Once your equipment is connected, follow these steps to begin using your ALPOWL Podcast Equipment Set:

1. Power On: Press the 'POWER' button on the V8 sound card to turn it on. The indicator lights will illuminate.
2. Adjust Microphone Volume: Use the 'MIC' knob to adjust the input volume of your microphone. Start with a low setting and gradually increase it.
3. Adjust Echo: Use the 'ECHO' knob to add or reduce the echo effect on your voice.
4. Tone Control: Use the 'TREBLE' and 'BASS' knobs to fine-tune the tonal characteristics of your microphone input.
5. Monitor Volume: Adjust the 'Monitor' knob to control the volume of your headphones/earphones.
