3. Setup Guide

3.1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Upon receiving your Thinkscan Plus S7, carefully open the packaging and ensure all components are present:

3.2. Powering On and Initial Setup

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Vehicle Connection and Identification

1. Connect the Thinkscan Plus S7 to your vehicle's OBD2 port.
2. Turn the vehicle's ignition to the ON position (engine off).
3. From the main menu, select Scan. The device will attempt to automatically identify the vehicle's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) using the One-Click Auto VIN feature.
4. If Auto VIN fails or takes too long, you may be prompted to manually enter the VIN or select vehicle details (make, model, year).

4.2. System Diagnostics

After vehicle identification, you can proceed with diagnostics:

1. Select Health Report to perform a full system scan and generate a comprehensive diagnostic report.
2. Alternatively, select System Scan to choose specific systems (e.g., ABS, SRS, ECM) for diagnosis.
3. Within a selected system, you can choose to Read Fault Codes to view Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) or Clear Fault Codes to erase them after repairs.
4. Select Live Data to view real-time parameters from various sensors in text or graph format. This is useful for monitoring vehicle performance and identifying intermittent issues.

4.3. Reset Functions

To access maintenance reset functions:

1. From the main menu, tap on Maintenance & Service.
2. Select the desired reset function (e.g., Oil Reset, EPB Reset).
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the reset procedure. Ensure you understand the implications of each reset before proceeding.

4.4. Report Generation and Sharing

8.3. Additional Reset Service Updates

Each additional reset function beyond the initial 5 free ones costs $29.95 per reset per year for updates.
