Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Clarion CM3013WL 12-inch Marine Subwoofer. Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting installation or operation to ensure proper use and to prevent damage to the unit or your vessel. Keep this manual for future reference.

Safety Information

  • Power Supply: Ensure the power supply is disconnected before installation or maintenance to prevent electrical shock.
  • Wiring: All wiring should be performed by a qualified technician. Incorrect wiring can cause damage to the subwoofer, amplifier, or electrical system.
  • Mounting: Securely mount the subwoofer in a location that can support its weight and withstand marine conditions. Ensure no critical components or wiring are obstructed or damaged during mounting.
  • Water Resistance: The CM3013WL is designed with IP55 water resistance for the front. While resistant to splashes and spray, it is not designed for submersion. Ensure all connections are properly sealed.
  • Volume Levels: Prolonged exposure to high volume levels can cause hearing damage. Adjust volume to a comfortable level.

3. Wiring for Audio

The CM3013WL features dual 2-ohm voice coils. Consult your amplifier's manual for proper wiring configurations (e.g., parallel for 1-ohm load, series for 4-ohm load) to match the amplifier's stable impedance. Use marine-grade speaker wire of appropriate gauge.

  • Connect the positive (+) terminal of the subwoofer to the positive (+) output of your amplifier.
  • Connect the negative (-) terminal of the subwoofer to the negative (-) output of your amplifier.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent short circuits and corrosion.
