4. Setup and Installation
The Lotos recessed light is designed for easy installation in various ceiling types. Ensure power is disconnected before proceeding.
4.1. Prepare the Installation Area
- Determine the desired location for the light fixture.
- For the 6-inch model, a 5.25-inch diameter cutout is required in the ceiling. Ensure the ceiling thickness is between 0.5 inches and 1.5 inches.
- Ensure sufficient plenum space (less than 2 inches) for the wafer-thin light and adequate space for the remote driver box.
4.2. Wiring the Driver Box
The driver box is constructed from 20-gauge steel and includes 5 knockouts for electrical connections. It supports a universal input voltage of 120V-220V-277V.
- Open the driver box and connect the building's electrical supply wires (hot, neutral, ground) to the corresponding wires inside the driver box using appropriate wire connectors.
- Secure the wiring and close the driver box.
4.3. Connecting the Light Fixture
The light engine connects to the driver box using a male-to-female quick connect locking cable.
- Connect the cable from the LED light fixture to the cable from the driver box, ensuring a secure, locking connection.
4.4. Installing the Light Fixture
The light fixture is held in place by retention clips.
- Carefully push the LED light fixture into the prepared ceiling cutout. The retention clips will secure the light in place.
- Ensure the fixture is flush with the ceiling surface.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Color Temperature Selection (CCT)
The Lotos recessed light features 5-CCT selectable color temperatures, allowing you to customize the light output to your preference. A switch on the remote driver box enables selection between:
- 2700K (Warm White)
- 3000K (Soft White)
- 3500K (Neutral White)
- 4000K (Cool White)
- 5000K (Daylight)
Note: Select the desired color temperature before installing the driver box in the ceiling, as the switch will not be accessible once installed.

This image highlights the 5-CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) selectable feature of the Lotos recessed light. The remote driver box has a switch to choose between 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K, allowing customization of the light's warmth or coolness.
5.2. Dimming
The Lotos LED recessed light offers smooth and continuous dimming capabilities. It is compatible with electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmers.
- With ELV dimmers, the light can dim down to 10%.
- With TRIAC dimmers, the light can dim down to 5%.
For optimal performance, refer to WAC Lighting's dimmer compatibility chart, if available, for recommended dimmer models.
6. Maintenance
The WAC Lighting Lotos LED recessed light requires minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Ensure power is off before cleaning. Wipe the fixture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or electrical components.
- LED Module: The LED module is integrated and not user-serviceable. Do not attempt to replace the LEDs.
7. Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your Lotos LED recessed light, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on | No power supply; loose wiring; incorrect CCT selection; faulty fixture. | Check circuit breaker/fuse. Verify all wire connections are secure. Ensure CCT switch is set to a valid position. Contact a qualified electrician or WAC Lighting support. |
| Light flickers or dims unexpectedly | Incompatible dimmer; loose wiring; voltage fluctuations. | Ensure dimmer is LED-compatible (ELV or TRIAC). Check wiring connections. Consider a whole-house surge protector if voltage fluctuations are common. |
| Light output is not as expected | Incorrect CCT setting; dimmer setting too low. | Adjust the CCT switch on the driver box. Increase dimmer level. |
| Driver box is bulky / Cord is too short | Limited space in ceiling; installation constraints. | Plan installation carefully to ensure adequate space for the driver box and cable length. Consider using an optional frame-in kit for pre-wiring if needed (Part # RER-FRAME). |
| Fixture burns out quickly | Power surges; faulty driver. | Ensure stable power supply. If issues persist, contact WAC Lighting for warranty support. |
