Maintenance
Cleaning:
To maintain optimal performance, keep the lens clean. Wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by a rinse with clean water and thorough drying. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
Battery Care:
- For the SL-B26 rechargeable battery, ensure it is charged regularly, especially if the flashlight will be stored for an extended period.
- When using CR123A disposable batteries, replace both batteries simultaneously with new ones of the same type and brand.
- Remove batteries from the flashlight if it will not be used for an extended period to prevent potential leakage and damage.
O-Ring Lubrication:
Periodically inspect the O-rings for wear and tear. Apply a thin coat of silicone grease to the O-rings to maintain the flashlight's water resistance. Replace damaged O-rings promptly.
Troubleshooting
- Flashlight not turning on: Ensure batteries are correctly installed with proper polarity. Check if batteries are fully charged (SL-B26) or new (CR123A). Tighten the tail cap securely.
- Dim or flickering light: This usually indicates low battery power. Recharge the SL-B26 battery or replace CR123A batteries. Ensure battery contacts are clean.
- Water ingress: If the flashlight has been exposed to water and appears to have internal moisture, immediately remove batteries and allow the flashlight to dry thoroughly. Check O-rings for damage or improper seating.
- Switch malfunction: If the switch is unresponsive, ensure no debris is obstructing its movement. If issues persist, contact Streamlight customer support.
