Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your K-Rain RPS75-NN-CV Rotor Sprinkler. Please read these instructions carefully before beginning installation or operation to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the product.
Setup and Installation
The K-Rain RPS75-NN-CV is designed for residential and light commercial irrigation applications. It features a 3/4" female threaded NPT inlet for connection to your irrigation system.
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Connection: Ensure the irrigation line is clear of debris. The sprinkler requires a 3/4" female threaded NPT connection.
- Thread Sprinkler: Carefully thread the RPS75-NN-CV sprinkler onto the 3/4" male threaded riser. Hand-tighten first, then use a wrench for a secure, leak-free connection. Do not overtighten.
- Positioning: Ensure the sprinkler body is vertical and the top is flush with the ground level once installed.
- Replacement (if applicable): This rotor is a direct replacement for the Hunter PGP rotor. To replace an existing Hunter PGP, simply unscrew the existing riser from the PGP can and replace it with the RPS75-NN-CV riser.

Operating and Adjustment
The RPS75-NN-CV allows for easy top adjustment of its spray pattern, offering both full and part-circle rotation.
Adjusting the Arc:
- Identify Adjustment Point: Locate the red adjustment indicator on the top of the sprinkler head.
- Insert Tool: Use a universal adjustment tool (compatible with existing Hunter products) or a flat-head screwdriver. Insert the tool into the adjustment slot.
- Adjust Arc:
- To increase the arc, turn the tool clockwise.
- To decrease the arc, turn the tool counter-clockwise.
- Check Rotation: Manually rotate the turret to ensure the desired arc is set correctly. The left stop is fixed, and all arc adjustments are made from the right stop.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your K-Rain RPS75-NN-CV rotor sprinkler.
- Cleaning: Periodically inspect the sprinkler head for debris such as grass clippings, dirt, or sand that may obstruct the nozzle or affect rotation. Clean as necessary.
- Nozzle Replacement: The sprinkler comes with a wide selection of nozzles. If a different spray pattern or flow rate is desired, the nozzle can be replaced by unscrewing the top cap and carefully removing the existing nozzle. Refer to the nozzle chart for appropriate selection.
- Rubber Cover: The integrated rubber cover helps seal out dirt and debris, contributing to product durability. Ensure it remains intact and free from damage.
- Winterization: In regions subject to freezing temperatures, ensure the irrigation system, including the sprinkler, is properly winterized to prevent freeze damage. Consult your irrigation system's main manual for specific winterization procedures.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your rotor sprinkler.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Sprinkler not rotating | Low water pressure; debris in gear drive; damaged internal components. | Check system pressure; clean nozzle and filter; if internal damage, replacement may be necessary. |
| Uneven spray pattern | Clogged nozzle; incorrect nozzle installed; damaged nozzle. | Clean or replace nozzle; ensure correct nozzle for application. |
| Water leaking from top of head | Damaged seal; debris under seal. | Inspect and clean seal; replace if damaged. |
| Arc adjustment not holding | Worn adjustment mechanism. | Ensure adjustment tool is fully engaged; if issue persists, replacement may be needed. |
