5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your iClever IC-BK22 keyboard, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the keyboard surface. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the keys or internal components.
- Key Cleaning: If a key is not responding or feels sticky, dust or foreign objects might be stuck underneath. Gently blow compressed air around the affected key to dislodge any debris.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, turn off the keyboard to conserve battery. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid Liquids: Keep the keyboard away from liquids to prevent damage. In case of accidental spills, immediately turn off the keyboard and disconnect it from any power source. Allow it to dry completely before attempting to use it again.
- Avoid Metal Surfaces: Do not use the keyboard directly on metal surfaces, as this can interfere with wireless signal transmission.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Keyboard Not Responding or Functioning Correctly
- Restart your device (computer, tablet, smartphone).
- Charge the keyboard for at least 30 minutes. Low battery can affect functionality.
- Ensure the keyboard is at least 20 cm away from metal objects or other wireless signal sources that might cause interference.
- Avoid using the keyboard on a metal surface.
- Check if any background update programs are running on your device, as these can cause lag.
- Ensure your device's operating system (OS) is up to date.
6.2 Bluetooth Connection Issues (Cannot Connect / No Input)
- First, confirm that your device has Bluetooth functionality. This is a Bluetooth keyboard, not a 2.4G wireless keyboard.
- If the keyboard was previously paired with multiple devices, it might automatically connect to another device. Turn off Bluetooth on all other nearby devices and attempt to re-pair with your intended device. If issues persist, delete the keyboard's entry from your device's Bluetooth settings and re-pair.
- Charge the keyboard using the included cable, then attempt to re-pair.
- Check your device's OS update status and update to the latest version before attempting to connect again.
- Turn off Bluetooth or power off any unused Bluetooth devices, or move them further away to reduce interference.
- Toggle your device's Bluetooth off and then on again, then attempt to re-pair.
6.3 Incorrect or Repeated Character Input
- Adjust the keyboard response speed setting in your device's "Control Panel" (or equivalent system settings) to modify the key repeat interval.
- Restart your device.
- Charge the keyboard for at least 30 minutes. Low battery can negatively impact connection stability and overall function, leading to input issues.
- Keep your device and keyboard as close as possible, ideally within 30 cm.
- Ensure the keyboard is at least 20 cm away from metal objects or other wireless signal sources.
- Avoid using the keyboard on a metal surface.
- Check for background update programs on your device that might be causing lag.
- Ensure your device's operating system (OS) is up to date.
- Try connecting and inputting on a different computer/smartphone/tablet to determine if the issue is specific to your primary device.
6.4 Key Not Activating or Responding
- Dust or foreign objects might be stuck under the key. Try blowing compressed air on the affected key to clear any debris.
