Important Safety Information

Please read and understand this entire owner's manual, including all safety information, before plugging in or using this product. Failure to do so could result in fire, electric shock, or serious personal injury.

  • Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
  • This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
  • Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • This heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable vapors or liquids are used or stored.

Product Overview

The Duraflame Infrared Quartz 3D Electric Fireplace Heater (Model DFI-7117-01) provides supplemental zone heating for up to 1,000 square feet. It features Infragen Technology, combining infrared quartz with halogen for faster heating. The patented 3D Flame Effect creates realistic flames with 5 brightness levels, operable with or without heat. The unit includes a curved front design with wire mesh front door and side panels for 3-sided viewing, and an interior back panel with a natural stacked stone pattern.

Setup

The Duraflame Electric Fireplace Heater is designed for easy setup. Simply attach the legs, plug it into a standard 120V outlet, and it is ready for use.

Unpacking and Placement

  • Carefully remove the unit from its packaging. Ensure all components are present and undamaged.
  • Place the heater on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance from walls and other objects for proper ventilation.
  • Keep combustible materials at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front, sides, and rear of the heater.

Attaching the Legs

Locate the four legs and the necessary hardware. Attach each leg securely to the base of the unit according to the instructions provided in the separate assembly guide (if applicable). Ensure all screws are tightened.

Power Connection

Plug the power cord directly into a grounded 120V, 15 Amp outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.

Operating Instructions

The electric fireplace heater can be operated using the control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

Control Panel and Remote Control

The control panel is located on the unit. The remote control requires 2 AAA batteries (included).

Power On/Off

  • Press the POWER button on the control panel or remote to turn the unit ON or OFF.

Flame Effect

  • Press the FLAME button to cycle through 5 brightness levels for the 3D flame effect.
  • The flame effect can be operated independently of the heat function.

Heat Function and Thermostat

  • Press the HEAT button to activate the heater. The Infragen Technology provides 5,200 BTU of heat.
  • Use the UP/DOWN arrows to adjust the digital thermostat to your desired room temperature.
  • The heater will automatically turn off once the set temperature is reached and reactivate if the room temperature drops.

Electronic Timer

  • Press the TIMER button to set an automatic timed shut-off. Options range from 30 minutes up to 9 hours.

Remote Control Functions

The remote control duplicates most functions of the control panel for convenience.

Cleaning

  • Always disconnect power before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sprays.
  • Periodically vacuum the air intake and exhaust vents to remove dust and debris.

Storage

  • When not in use, store the heater in a cool, dry location.
  • Utilize the cord management feature on the back of the unit to secure the power cord.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your electric fireplace heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
