Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to properly set up your truck tent:

  1. Prepare the Tent: Lay the tent flat on a clean, clear area on the ground or directly in the truck bed. Ensure the tent is oriented correctly with the entrance facing the rear of the truck.
  2. Assemble the Poles: Connect the fiberglass pole sections. The main poles feature color-matching markings for easy identification. Ensure all sections are fully inserted into each other to prevent breakage.

  3. Insert Poles into Sleeves: Slide the assembled poles through the fabric sleeves on the tent. Match the poles to their corresponding sleeves (e.g., longer poles for the main structure, shorter poles for the doorway).
  4. Secure Pole Ends: Once poles are through the sleeves, insert the ends of each pole into the designated pockets at the base of the tent. This will cause the tent to take shape.
  5. Position the Tent: Carefully lift the tent onto the pickup truck bed, ensuring the tent door faces backward. Adjust its position so it sits evenly within the truck bed.

  6. Anchor the Tent: Use the provided straps and hooks to secure the tent to the vehicle's wheel hubs, chassis, or other stable anchor points. Ensure all straps are taut to prevent movement.
  7. Install Rainfly (Optional, for wet weather): For rainy conditions, drape the outer rainfly over the tent structure. Secure the rainfly hooks to the tent's base or vehicle as instructed. Ensure the front and back of the rainfly are correctly oriented.

Operating Instructions

Your JOYTUTUS Pickup Truck Tent is designed for comfort and convenience. Here are some operational features:

  • Ventilation: The tent features 3 well-ventilated windows. Two windows are for general sightseeing, and one can be used for observation. Open these windows to maintain airflow and reduce condensation.
  • Internal Storage: Two mesh bags are located within the tent's interior for convenient storage of small items, helping to keep the space tidy.
  • Lighting Hook: An internal top hook is provided for hanging a lamp or other lightweight accessories.
  • Privacy and Insect Protection: The windows include a mesh layer to prevent insects from entering while allowing air circulation. A shading layer can be pulled down for privacy or to block sunlight.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the lifespan of your tent:

  • Cleaning: Hand wash the tent fabric with mild soap and water. Do not use harsh detergents or bleach. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before storage.
  • Snow Removal: In snowy conditions, clear snow from the top of the tent in a timely manner. The snow thickness should not exceed 3 cm to prevent structural damage.
  • Ventilation: If water vapor or condensation appears inside the tent, open the doors and windows to improve ventilation and eliminate moisture.
  • Environmental Care: The product is made of environmentally friendly materials. Keep it dry during storage to prevent degradation.

Storage

To store your tent:

  1. Disassemble: Remove all hooks attached to the vehicle. Take down the outer rainfly (if used). Lift the tent off the truck bed.
  2. Remove Poles: Carefully extract all four fiberglass poles from the tent sleeves.
  3. Fold Poles: Fold the poles neatly and place them into the pole bag.
  4. Fold Tent: Lay the tent flat on the ground. Fold it into quarters, then vertically fold it in half while pressing to expel air. Fold the outer rainfly to a similar size as the main tent.
  5. Coil and Bag: Coil the tent and outer tent together around the poles. Secure with straps and place the entire assembly into the provided carry bag.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and their resolutions:

  • Pole Breakage: Ensure poles are fully inserted during assembly. Improper insertion can lead to breakage. If a pole breaks, contact customer support for a one-time free replacement opportunity.
  • Poles Not Staying in Pockets: Verify that the tent fabric is taut and the pole ends are fully seated in their designated pockets. Adjust tension as needed.
  • Tent Tearing: Avoid setting up the tent on rough cement or rocky ground, as this may wear out or tear the tent fabric. Also, ensure the truck bed is free of sharp objects.
  • Wind Stability: When wind force exceeds level 4, the tent should be taken down to prevent damage. Always ensure the tent is securely anchored to the vehicle.
  • Compatibility with Tonneau Covers: This tent is not recommended for use with tonneau covers, as the rails can be sharp and may tear the tent fabric.
