- From the printer's control panel, navigate to "Setup" > "Maintenance" > "Print Head Cleaning".
- Follow the on-screen prompts. This process uses a small amount of ink.

4.3 Paper Path Cleaning
If paper jams occur frequently or printouts have streaks, the paper path may need cleaning. Refer to the printer's on-screen instructions or the full user guide for detailed steps on cleaning rollers and internal components.
4.4 Waste Ink Pad Replacement
The printer has a waste ink pad that collects excess ink. This component has a limited lifespan and will eventually need replacement. When the printer displays a message indicating the waste ink pad is full, contact Epson authorized service for replacement. This is typically not a user-serviceable part.
5. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter with your printer.
5.1 Paper Jams
If paper gets stuck in the printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
- Carefully open all covers and trays to locate the jammed paper.
- Gently pull the paper out in the direction of the paper path. Avoid tearing the paper.
- Check all areas, including the rear access cover and ADF, for any remaining paper fragments.
- Close all covers, plug in the power cord, and turn on the printer.
5.2 Print Quality Issues (Streaks, Fading, Incorrect Colors)
- Check Ink Levels: Ensure all ink tanks have sufficient ink. Refill if necessary.
- Perform Nozzle Check: Print a nozzle check pattern to identify clogged nozzles.
- Perform Print Head Cleaning: If nozzles are clogged, run a print head cleaning cycle (refer to Section 4.2).
- Align Print Head: If prints are misaligned or blurry, perform a print head alignment from the printer's maintenance menu.
- Check Paper Type: Ensure you are using the correct paper type and that it is not damp or curled.
5.3 Connectivity Problems (Wi-Fi, USB)
- Restart Devices: Turn off the printer, computer/router, and then turn them back on.
- Check Cables: For USB connections, ensure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and computer. Try a different USB port or cable.
- Verify Wi-Fi Settings: On the printer's control panel, confirm that the Wi-Fi settings match your network's SSID and password. Ensure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Reinstall Drivers: If connectivity issues persist, try reinstalling the printer drivers on your computer.
5.4 ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) Issues
If the ADF is not feeding paper correctly or jams frequently:
- Check Document Condition: Ensure documents are not wrinkled, torn, or stapled. Remove any clips or staples.
- Load Correctly: Fan the stack of documents and align them properly in the ADF tray. Adjust the paper guides.
- Clean Rollers: Dust or paper residue on the ADF rollers can cause feeding issues. Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth dampened with water.
