Setup

Battery Installation

The eTrex 32x operates on two AA batteries (not included). For optimal performance and battery life, it is recommended to use high-quality alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Twist the D-ring counter-clockwise and lift the cover to open.
  3. Insert two AA batteries, observing the polarity markings (+ and -).
  4. Replace the cover and twist the D-ring clockwise to secure it.

Powering On/Off

  • To power on: Press and hold the Power button (located on the right side) until the screen illuminates.
  • To power off: Press and hold the Power button until a power-off prompt appears, then select 'Power Off'.

MicroSD Card Installation

The device includes 8GB of internal memory. An optional microSD card (not included) can be installed for additional map storage or data.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover.
  2. Locate the microSD card slot, typically beneath the batteries or adjacent to them.
  3. Insert the microSD card with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Initial Configuration

Upon first power-on, the device will guide you through initial setup steps, including language selection, time zone, and unit preferences. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete this process.

Device Freezes or Becomes Unresponsive
