The Keychron K7 is an ultra-slim 65% layout mechanical keyboard designed for peak productivity and versatility. It features 68 keys, hot-swappable low-profile Gateron mechanical switches, and RGB LED backlighting. Compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems, the K7 offers seamless connectivity through stable Bluetooth 5.1 or a reliable Type-C wired connection. Ultra-Slim Design: The K7 features a redesigned low-profile Gateron mechanical switch, which is 40% slimmer than conventional switches. This results in a shorter pre-travel and total travel distance, allowing for faster input and feedback. The reinforced aluminum frame ensures durability while maintaining an elegantly slim profile.

Hot-Swappable Switches: The K7 is the first ultra-slim wireless mechanical keyboard to incorporate a hot-swappable feature for low-profile Gateron mechanical switches. This allows users to personalize their typing experience without the need for soldering. The pre-installed low-profile Gateron Blue switches provide a clicky responsiveness with a lifespan of up to 70 million keystrokes. Note: This keyboard is not compatible with any conventional MX style mechanical switches.

Wireless and Wired Connectivity: The K7 can connect with up to 3 devices simultaneously via its stable Bluetooth 5.1 chipset, allowing seamless switching between a laptop, PC, tablet, and phone. Alternatively, it can be connected to your computer using the included Type-C cable for a wired connection.

Compact 65% Layout: The keyboard features a compact 65% layout, which includes dedicated arrow keys designed to minimize space while retaining essential functionality. It comes with a unique Mac layout and all necessary Mac multimedia keys, while also being fully compatible with Windows. Setup

1. Wireless (Bluetooth) Connection

1. Locate the toggle switch on the side of the keyboard labeled "Wireless/Wired". Slide it to the "Bluetooth" position.
2. Locate the toggle switch labeled "Win/Android Mac/iOS". Slide it to the appropriate operating system for your device (Mac/iOS for Apple devices, Win/Android for Windows/Android devices).
3. To enter pairing mode, press and hold the 'Fn1' + 'Q' keys for 4 seconds. The 'Q' key backlight will flash rapidly, indicating it's ready to pair.
4. On your device (laptop, PC, tablet, or phone), enable Bluetooth and search for "Keychron K7". Select it to connect.
5. Once connected, the 'Q' key backlight will stop flashing.
6. To connect to a second device, press 'Fn1' + 'W' for 4 seconds, then repeat steps 3-5. For a third device, use 'Fn1' + 'E'. You can switch between connected devices by pressing 'Fn1' + 'Q', 'Fn1' + 'W', or 'Fn1' + 'E' briefly.

2. Wired (USB Type-C) Connection

1. Locate the toggle switch on the side of the keyboard labeled "Wireless/Wired". Slide it to the "Cable" position.
2. Connect the included USB Type-C cable to the keyboard's Type-C port and the other end to your computer's USB port.
3. The keyboard will automatically be recognized and ready for use.

Operating Instructions

Key Functions

• 65% Layout: The compact layout includes all essential alphanumeric keys, modifiers, and dedicated arrow keys.
• Multimedia Keys: For Mac users, the keyboard includes specific multimedia keys accessible via the 'Fn' row. For Windows users, these keys function as standard F-keys or can be accessed with the 'Fn' key combination.
• Function Keys (F1-F12): Access F-keys by pressing 'Fn1' + the corresponding number key (e.g., 'Fn1' + '1' for F1).

Backlight Control

The Keychron K7 features dynamic RGB LED backlighting. Use the following key combinations to control the backlight:

• Change Backlight Mode: Press 'Fn1' + 'Light Bulb' key (usually located near the 'Del' key) to cycle through different RGB lighting effects.
• Adjust Backlight Brightness: Use 'Fn1' + 'F5' (decrease) and 'Fn1' + 'F6' (increase) to adjust brightness levels.
• Change Backlight Color: Some modes allow color changes. Refer to the quick start guide for specific key combinations.

Hot-Swapping Switches

To replace a switch:

1. Gently remove the keycap using the provided keycap puller.
2. Use the switch puller to carefully clamp onto the left and right sides of the low-profile Gateron switch.
3. Pull the switch straight up to remove it from the PCB.
4. Align the pins of the new low-profile Gateron switch with the holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight to avoid bending.
5. Gently push the new switch down until it clicks into place.
6. Replace the keycap.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your Keychron K7 keyboard.

• Cleaning: Regularly clean the keyboard with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps and use compressed air to clear dust and debris from between the switches. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Battery Care: The keyboard contains a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the keyboard using the provided USB Type-C cable.
• Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
