3.5 Video Coding Technology

The NVR utilizes H.265+ Smart Video Coding, which efficiently compresses crystal-clear video without using extra bandwidth. This technology helps save disk space, ease network loads, and reduce monitoring costs without sacrificing image quality.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Hard Drive Management

Regularly check the status of your installed HDD through the NVR's system settings to ensure optimal recording performance. The NVR supports up to 10 TB of storage, which can store approximately 720 days of video footage (depending on camera resolution and recording settings).

  • Formatting: If you install a new HDD or encounter recording issues, you may need to format the drive via the NVR's system menu.
  • Storage Alerts: Configure alerts for low disk space to prevent interruption of recording.

4.2 Firmware Updates

Periodically check for firmware updates on the TP-Link official website or through the VIGI app. Keeping your NVR's firmware up-to-date ensures access to the latest features, security patches, and performance improvements.

4.3 Cleaning and Care

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your NVR:

  • Keep the device in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.
  • Avoid exposing the NVR to direct sunlight, excessive heat, or moisture.
