4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the inverter from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage. If damage is found, do not proceed with installation and contact your dealer.

4.2 Placement

  • Choose a cool, dry, and well-ventilated location.
  • Ensure there is at least 15 cm (6 inches) of clear space around all sides of the inverter for proper airflow.
  • Avoid placing the inverter near heat sources, direct sunlight, or areas with high humidity or dust.
  • Place the inverter on a sturdy, non-flammable surface.

4.3 Battery Connection

Important: Ensure the inverter is switched OFF and disconnected from the mains power before connecting the battery.

  1. Connect the RED battery cable to the POSITIVE (+) terminal of the battery.
  2. Connect the BLACK battery cable to the NEGATIVE (-) terminal of the battery.
  3. Ensure all battery terminals are clean and connections are tight to prevent sparking and ensure efficient power transfer.

4.4 Mains and Load Connection

  1. Plug the inverter's mains input cord into a properly grounded wall socket.
  2. Connect your appliances (lights, fans, computers, etc.) to the output sockets of the inverter. Do not overload the inverter beyond its rated capacity.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

  • To turn ON the inverter, press the power button. The inverter will perform a self-test, and indicators will light up.
  • To turn OFF the inverter, press and hold the power button until the unit shuts down.

5.2 Mode Selection (ECO/UPS)

The inverter typically has a switch or button to select between ECO and UPS modes:

  • UPS Mode: Provides a narrow input voltage window (e.g., 180V-260V) for sensitive appliances like computers. When the input voltage goes outside this range, the inverter quickly switches to battery power.
  • ECO Mode: Provides a wider input voltage window (e.g., 100V-280V). The inverter will switch to battery power only when the voltage is significantly low or high, saving battery power and reducing switch-overs.

5.3 Indicator Lights

The front panel of your inverter features various LED indicators to show its operational status:

  • Mains ON: Indicates that the inverter is receiving power from the utility grid.
  • Charging: Indicates that the battery is currently being charged.
  • Battery Low: Warns that the battery charge is critically low and the inverter will soon shut down.
  • Overload: Indicates that the connected load exceeds the inverter's capacity.
  • UPS ON: Indicates that the inverter is supplying power from the battery.
  • Fault/Protection: Indicates a system error or protection mode activation (e.g., short circuit).

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the exterior of the inverter with a dry cloth. Ensure ventilation openings are free from dust and obstructions.
  • Battery Water Level (for Lead-Acid Batteries): Check the electrolyte level in lead-acid batteries every 1-2 months. If low, top up with distilled water only.
  • Terminal Connections: Periodically check battery and inverter terminal connections for corrosion or looseness. Clean corroded terminals and tighten connections as needed.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the inverter's surroundings remain well-ventilated.
  • Load Management: Avoid consistently overloading the inverter, as this can reduce its lifespan.
