1. Important Safety Information
Please read these instructions carefully before installation and use. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Ensure the wall material is suitable for drilling and can support the weight of the rail and any items placed on it.
- Use appropriate screws and wall plugs for your specific wall type (e.g., drywall, concrete, wood). Mounting hardware is sold separately.
- Do not overload the rail. Distribute weight evenly.
- Keep small parts out of reach of children during assembly.
2. Package Contents
Verify that all components are present before beginning assembly:
- 1x Hultarp Rail (Black, 31 ½ inch)
- 2x Mounting Brackets
Note: Screws and other mounting hardware are not included and must be purchased separately based on your wall material.

3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Tools Required
- Drill
- Drill bit (appropriate for your wall plugs/screws)
- Screwdriver (Phillips head recommended)
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
- Level
3.2 Installation Steps
- Choose Location: Select a suitable wall location for the rail. Ensure there are no hidden pipes or electrical wires behind the drilling points.
- Mark Drilling Points: Hold one mounting bracket against the wall at the desired height. Use a level to ensure it is straight. Mark the two screw holes with a pencil. Repeat for the second bracket, ensuring the distance between the two brackets matches the length of the rail and that both are level.
- Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked points. The size of the drill bit should match the wall plugs you intend to use. Insert wall plugs if necessary.
- Attach Brackets: Position the mounting brackets over the drilled holes. Secure each bracket to the wall using appropriate screws. Do not overtighten.
- Mount Rail: Insert the Hultarp rail into the openings of the attached brackets. Ensure it is seated securely.
- Secure Rail: Tighten the small screws on the underside of each bracket to firmly hold the rail in place.

4. Operating Instructions
The IKEA Hultarp Rail is designed for organizing kitchen utensils, towels, or other small items. It is compatible with IKEA Hultarp series hooks and containers (sold separately).
- Simply hang Hultarp hooks over the rail to create hanging storage.
- Attach Hultarp containers or baskets to the hooks for additional storage options.
- Ensure items are placed securely and do not exceed the rail's weight capacity.

5. Maintenance
To maintain the appearance and functionality of your Hultarp Rail:
- Cleaning: Wipe the rail with a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the finish.
- Inspection: Periodically check the mounting screws to ensure they remain tight. Retighten if necessary to prevent the rail from becoming loose.
6. Troubleshooting
- Rail feels loose after installation:
Ensure the small screws on the underside of the brackets are fully tightened. If the wall plugs or screws are not appropriate for your wall material, the rail may not be securely anchored. Consider using stronger or different mounting hardware.
- Items slide too easily on the rail:
This is normal for smooth metal rails. Ensure hooks have a good grip or consider using accessories designed to prevent excessive movement.
