3. Setup

Before first use, follow these steps:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and labels from the coffee maker.
  2. Clean: Wash the glass carafe, lid, and removable filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth.
  3. First Brew Cycle: To clean the internal components, fill the water reservoir to the MAX level with clean water. Do not add coffee grounds. Place the empty carafe on the heating plate. Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet and press the power switch to start a brewing cycle. Allow the cycle to complete. Discard the water and repeat this process once more.
  4. Placement: Place the coffee maker on a dry, stable, and level surface, ensuring it is away from heat sources and within reach of a power outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew coffee:

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired level, indicated on the side of the reservoir. Do not exceed the MAX (1.25L / 10 cups) mark.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable filter (or a paper filter, if preferred) into the filter basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of coffee grounds per cup (150ml) of water, but adjust to your taste.
  3. Close Lid: Close the lid securely.
  4. Position Carafe: Place the empty glass carafe with its lid on the heating plate, ensuring it is correctly seated to activate the anti-drip mechanism.
  5. Start Brewing: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. Press the power switch. The indicator light will illuminate, signifying that the brewing process has started.
  6. Brewing Complete: Once the brewing cycle is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the keep-warm function. The indicator light will remain on.
  7. Serve: You can remove the carafe to pour coffee at any time during the keep-warm period. The anti-drip function will temporarily stop the flow of coffee. Replace the carafe within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.
  8. Automatic Shut-off: The coffee maker will automatically shut off approximately 40 minutes after the brewing cycle is complete.
  9. Turn Off Manually: To turn off the appliance before the automatic shut-off, simply press the power switch again.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Discard Grounds: Remove the filter basket and discard used coffee grounds.
  3. Wash Parts: Wash the glass carafe, its lid, and the removable filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
  4. Wipe Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  5. Heating Plate: Wipe the heating plate with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive materials.

Descaling (Every 2-4 Weeks)

Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descale regularly:

  1. Prepare Solution: Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts water. Fill the water reservoir with this solution up to the MAX level.
  2. Run Cycle: Place the empty carafe on the heating plate. Turn on the coffee maker and let it complete half of a brewing cycle.
  3. Soak: Turn off the coffee maker and let the solution soak for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Complete Cycle: Turn the coffee maker back on and let the remaining solution brew through.
  5. Rinse: Discard the vinegar solution. Fill the water reservoir with clean water and run two full brewing cycles with only water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.
