3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove all packaging materials.
- Inspect the unit for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your supplier immediately.
- Remove all protective films from stainless steel surfaces.
3.2 Placement
- Place the unit on a firm, level surface capable of supporting its weight (approx. 120 kg).
- Ensure adequate ventilation. Maintain a minimum clearance of 10 cm (4 inches) from walls or other equipment on all sides, especially the rear where the compressor is located.
- Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, or areas with high humidity.
- Allow the unit to stand upright for at least 2 hours before connecting to power, especially if it was transported horizontally. This allows the refrigerant and oils to settle.
3.3 Electrical Connection
- Connect the unit to a dedicated, grounded 230V, 50Hz electrical outlet.
- Do not use adapters, multi-sockets, or extension cords.
3.4 Initial Cleaning
- Before first use, clean the interior and exterior surfaces with a mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
4. Operation
4.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on, plug the unit into the electrical outlet. The control panel will illuminate.
- To power off, unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
4.2 Temperature Control
- The unit is factory-set to operate within a temperature range of +2°C to +8°C.
- Refer to the control panel instructions (usually located near the display) for specific temperature adjustment procedures. Typically, there are 'Set' and 'Up/Down' buttons.
- Allow the unit to reach the desired temperature before loading food products. This may take several hours.
4.3 Loading GN Pans
- The top section is designed to hold 3x 1/1 GN pans and 3x 1/6 GN pans with a maximum depth of 150 mm.
- Ensure pans are placed correctly to allow for proper air circulation and temperature maintenance.
- Do not overload the pans or obstruct the airflow.
4.4 Defrosting
- This unit features an automatic defrost system. Defrost cycles occur periodically to prevent ice buildup on the evaporator coil.
- During defrost, the compressor will temporarily stop, and any accumulated ice will melt and drain away.
- Avoid opening doors frequently during defrost cycles to maintain internal temperature.
5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your unit. Always disconnect power before cleaning.
5.1 Daily Cleaning
- Clean the interior and exterior surfaces with a soft cloth and mild, food-safe detergent.
- Wipe down door gaskets to ensure a tight seal.
- Clean any spills immediately to prevent staining or odor buildup.
5.2 Weekly/Monthly Cleaning
- Condenser Coil: The condenser coil (located at the rear/bottom of the unit) should be cleaned regularly (monthly or more often in dusty environments) to ensure efficient cooling. Use a brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris. Failure to clean the condenser coil can lead to reduced cooling efficiency and compressor failure.
- Drain Pan/Tube: Check and clean the drain pan and tube to prevent blockages and water overflow.
- Door Gaskets: Inspect door gaskets for cracks or tears. Replace if damaged to maintain energy efficiency.
5.3 Extended Shutdown
- If the unit will not be used for an extended period, unplug it, empty all contents, clean thoroughly, and leave the doors slightly ajar to prevent odors and mold growth.
6. Troubleshooting
Before contacting service, please check the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit not cooling | No power; thermostat set too high; dirty condenser coil; door left open; excessive loading. | Check power connection; adjust thermostat; clean condenser coil; ensure doors are closed; reduce load. |
| Excessive noise | Unit not level; loose components; fan obstruction. | Level the unit; check for loose parts; ensure fan is clear. |
| Water on floor | Clogged drain tube/pan; door gasket not sealing. | Clear drain tube/pan; inspect and clean/replace door gasket. |
| Temperature too high | Dirty condenser; frequent door openings; ambient temperature too high. | Clean condenser; minimize door openings; ensure ambient temperature is within limits (max 32°C). |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact qualified service personnel.
