4.1 Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the slow cooker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- The cooking pot and glass lid are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand in warm, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could damage the nonstick coating.
- Wipe the exterior of the base unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Never immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
- Ensure all parts are thoroughly dry before storing or next use.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your slow cooker, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Appliance not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check your household circuit breaker.
- Food not cooking properly: Verify that the lid is properly seated and that the correct temperature and time settings have been selected. Ensure the cooking pot is correctly placed in the base unit.
- Food burning on the bottom: This may indicate too little liquid or too high a temperature setting for the recipe. Adjust liquid content or reduce heat.
- Steam escaping from lid: A small amount of steam escaping is normal. If excessive, ensure the lid is properly aligned and not damaged.
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact Montgomery Ward customer support.
