7. Installation Guide
Follow these steps carefully for a secure installation. It is highly recommended to have two people for this process.
7.1. Attach TV Brackets to TV
- Carefully place your TV face down on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
- Identify the correct screws and spacers for your TV's VESA holes.
- Attach the two vertical TV brackets to the back of your TV using the appropriate screws and washers. Ensure they are securely fastened but do not overtighten.
7.2. Prepare the Wall
- Determine the desired height for your TV. The center of the TV is typically about 42 inches (107 cm) from the floor for optimal viewing.
- Use a stud finder to locate the edges of two adjacent wood studs. Mark the center of each stud. For concrete/brick walls, mark the desired drilling locations.
- Use the provided mounting template to mark the pilot holes on the wall. Ensure the template is level before marking.
- Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. For wood studs, drill 7/32 inch (5.5 mm) holes to a depth of 2.36 inches (60 mm). For concrete/brick, drill 3/8 inch (10 mm) holes to a depth of 2.36 inches (60 mm) and insert concrete anchors.

7.3. Attach Wall Plate to Wall
- Align the wall plate with the drilled pilot holes.
- Secure the wall plate to the wall using the lag bolts and washers. Tighten the lag bolts firmly with a socket wrench until the wall plate is securely mounted. Do not overtighten.
7.4. Hang TV to Wall Plate
- With assistance, carefully lift the TV with the attached brackets and hook them onto the wall plate.
- Ensure the TV is securely seated on the wall plate.
- Tighten the safety screws on the bottom of the TV brackets to lock the TV in place and prevent accidental dislodging.
8. Operation and Adjustments
The MD2285-LA mount offers various adjustments for optimal viewing.
8.1. Extending and Retracting
Gently pull or push the TV to extend it up to 32 inches from the wall or retract it to 2.8 inches. This allows for flexible positioning and space-saving.

8.2. Swivel Adjustment
The mount allows for a ±90° swivel, enabling you to turn your TV left or right to achieve the best viewing angle from different positions in the room.

8.3. Tilt Adjustment
Adjust the tilt angle from +5° (upward) to -12° (downward) to reduce glare and find your preferred viewing angle. This adjustment is tool-free.

8.4. Level Adjustment
After installation, you can make a ±3° level adjustment to ensure your TV is perfectly horizontal. This helps correct any slight misalignments during installation.
9. Maintenance
- Regularly check that all screws and connections are tight and secure.
- Clean the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Do not hang anything from the TV mount or TV.
- If any part of the mount becomes damaged or worn, discontinue use and contact customer service for replacement parts.
10. Troubleshooting
10.1. TV is not level after installation.
Use the post-installation level adjustment feature (±3°) to correct any slight tilt. Refer to the installation guide for specific instructions on how to adjust the leveling screws.
10.2. Mount feels unstable.
Ensure all lag bolts securing the wall plate to the wall studs (or concrete anchors) are fully tightened. Verify that the TV safety screws are engaged. Recheck wall compatibility and weight capacity. If concerns persist, consult a professional installer.
10.3. Difficulty adjusting swivel or tilt.
Check if any cables are snagged or obstructing movement. Ensure the tilt adjustment screws are loosened before attempting to change the tilt angle, then retighten. For swivel, ensure the arms are not fully extended or retracted to their limits.
