5. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your digital timer:
- Initial Charge: Plug the timer into a live electrical outlet for at least 30 minutes to charge its internal battery. This battery retains settings during power outages.
- Clear All Settings: Use a pointed object (like a pen tip) to press the "RESET" button. The display will show "00:00" and all previous settings will be cleared.
- Set Current Time:
- Press the "CLOCK" button and hold it.
- While holding "CLOCK", press "WEEK" to set the current day of the week (MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU).
- While holding "CLOCK", press "HOUR" to set the current hour (0-23).
- While holding "CLOCK", press "MIN" to set the current minute (0-59).
- Release the "CLOCK" button. The time is now set.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Setting Programs (ON/OFF Times)
The CHACON Digital Timer allows you to set multiple ON/OFF programs. Each program consists of an ON time and an OFF time.
- Press the "PROG" button once. The display will show "1 ON".
- Press "WEEK" to select the day(s) for this program (e.g., MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU, or specific combinations).
- Press "HOUR" to set the desired ON hour.
- Press "MIN" to set the desired ON minute.
- Press "PROG" again. The display will show "1 OFF".
- Repeat steps 2-4 to set the desired OFF time for the same program.
- Press "PROG" to cycle through and set additional programs (up to 10 programs).
- After setting all desired programs, press the "CLOCK" button to return to the current time display.
6.2. Mode Selection (ON/AUTO/OFF)
Press the "ON/AUTO/OFF" button to cycle through the operating modes:
- ON: The timer output is continuously ON, ignoring all programmed settings.
- AUTO: The timer operates according to the programmed ON/OFF times. This is the standard operating mode.
- OFF: The timer output is continuously OFF, ignoring all programmed settings.
6.3. Random Function
The random function adds a random delay (10-31 minutes) to your programmed ON/OFF times, useful for security purposes when you are away.
- Press the "RANDOM" button to activate or deactivate this function.
- The "RANDOM" indicator will appear on the display when active.
- This function only works in "AUTO" mode.
