1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your Remko ETF 460 ECO Dehumidifier. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the appliance and keep it for future reference.
The Remko ETF 460 ECO is a mobile dehumidifier designed for fully automatic and problem-free humidity control in rooms up to 100 m² (or 240 m³). It operates on the condensation principle, featuring a hermetically sealed refrigeration system and a quiet, low-maintenance fan. Its compact design and transport handle ensure easy portability and installation.

3. Product Components and Contents

Figure 1: Remko ETF 460 ECO Dehumidifier
This image displays the front view of the Remko ETF 460 ECO Dehumidifier. It is a white, rectangular unit with a control panel on top, horizontal air vents on the upper front, and a visible water level indicator on the lower front section of the condensate tank.
The Remko ETF 460 ECO Dehumidifier package includes the following items:
- Remko ETF 460 ECO Dehumidifier Unit
- Dust Filter (pre-installed)
- Condensate Tank
- Condensate Pump with 5-meter Hose
- Electrical Connection Cable with Plug
- Clear Control Panel with Adjustable Hygrostat (integrated)
4. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage.
- Placement: Place the unit on a firm, level surface in the desired room. Ensure there is adequate space (at least 20 cm) around the air inlets and outlets for proper air circulation. The unit is portable thanks to its compact dimensions and integrated chassis/handle.
- Power Connection: Connect the electrical connection cable to a suitable grounded power outlet (230V/50Hz).
- Condensate Drainage:
- Manual Drainage (Condensate Tank): The unit will collect condensed water in the integrated 6.5-liter condensate tank. The unit will automatically shut off when the tank is full, and an indicator will signal that it needs to be emptied.
- Continuous Drainage (Condensate Pump): For continuous operation without manual emptying, connect the provided 5-meter hose to the condensate pump outlet. Route the hose to a suitable drain point (e.g., floor drain, sink). The integrated condensate pump will automatically discharge the collected water.
5. Operating Instructions
The Remko ETF 460 ECO is designed for fully automatic operation.
- Power On: Plug in the unit. The control panel will illuminate.
- Setting Desired Humidity: Use the controls on the clear control panel to set your desired relative humidity level. The integrated hygrostat will monitor the ambient humidity and activate/deactivate the dehumidifier to maintain the set level.
- Fan Speed: The unit features 2 fan speeds. Select the appropriate speed for your needs. Higher fan speed will result in faster dehumidification.
- Automatic Operation: Once the desired humidity is set, the unit will operate automatically. It will turn on when the humidity rises above the set point and turn off when it falls below.
- Condensate Tank Full Indicator: If using the condensate tank, the unit will stop operating when the tank is full. An indicator light will signal that the tank needs to be emptied. Empty the tank and reinsert it correctly to resume operation.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.
- Cleaning the Dust Filter:
The dust filter should be cleaned regularly (e.g., every two weeks, depending on usage and air quality). A clogged filter reduces efficiency and can damage the unit.
- Unplug the dehumidifier from the power outlet.
- Locate and remove the dust filter (refer to the unit's diagram for exact location).
- Clean the filter using a vacuum cleaner or wash it gently with lukewarm water. Ensure it is completely dry before reinserting.
- Reinsert the dry filter and plug the unit back in.
- Emptying and Cleaning the Condensate Tank:
If using manual drainage, empty the tank when the full indicator lights up. Periodically clean the tank to prevent mold and mildew growth.
- Unplug the dehumidifier.
- Carefully remove the condensate tank.
- Empty the collected water.
- Wash the tank with mild detergent and rinse thoroughly.
- Dry the tank completely before reinserting it into the unit.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
7. Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer support, please refer to the following troubleshooting guide:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not turn on. | No power supply. Power cord not properly connected. Condensate tank full or incorrectly inserted. | Check power outlet. Ensure power cord is securely plugged in. Empty and correctly reinsert the condensate tank. |
| Dehumidifier is not collecting water. | Ambient humidity is too low. Temperature is too low. Air filter is clogged. Desired humidity setting is too high. | Check ambient humidity. Ensure room temperature is within operating range (6-32°C). Clean the air filter. Lower the desired humidity setting. |
| Unit is noisy. | Unit not on a level surface. Air filter clogged. Obstruction in fan. | Place unit on a stable, level surface. Clean the air filter. Check for and remove any obstructions. |
| Water leaks from the unit. | Condensate tank incorrectly inserted. Continuous drainage hose is blocked or improperly connected. | Ensure condensate tank is correctly and securely inserted. Check continuous drainage hose for blockages or loose connections. |
