1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

4. Product Overview

  • Water Tank: Located at the back, easily removable for refilling.

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Cleaning

  1. Remove all packaging and protective films.
  2. Wash the water tank, milk jug, drip tray, and used capsule container with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry.

5.2 Filling the Water Tank

  • Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water. Do not use milk or other liquids.
  • Place the water tank back into its position at the rear of the machine.

5.3 First Use / Rinsing Cycle

Before preparing your first coffee, perform a rinsing cycle to clean the internal system.

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Place a container (at least 0.5L) under the coffee outlet.
  3. Press the Lungo button. The machine will start dispensing hot water.
  4. Repeat this process two to three times until clear water runs through.
  5. The machine is now ready for use.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Preparing Espresso or Lungo

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Lift the lever to open the capsule insertion slot.
  3. Insert a Nespresso Original capsule.
  4. Close the lever.
  5. Place a cup under the coffee outlet.
  6. Press either the Espresso button for a short coffee or the Lungo button for a longer coffee.
  7. The machine will automatically stop when the desired volume is reached.
  8. After brewing, lift and close the lever to eject the used capsule into the container.

6.2 Preparing Milk-Based Recipes (Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato)

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Fill the milk jug with the desired amount of fresh milk (cold, semi-skimmed milk is recommended for best froth). The jug has markings for different recipe volumes.
  3. Attach the milk jug to the machine's milk frother system.
  4. Lift the lever and insert a Nespresso Original capsule. Close the lever.
  5. Place a suitable cup under the milk spout and coffee outlet.
  6. Press the Milk Recipe button. The machine will first froth and dispense the milk, then brew the coffee into your cup.
  7. After preparation, remove the milk jug and clean it immediately (see Maintenance section).

7. Maintenance

7.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Milk Jug: After each milk preparation, detach the milk jug. The jug and its lid are top-rack dishwasher safe. Alternatively, rinse thoroughly with warm water.
  • Drip Tray & Used Capsule Container: Empty and rinse daily.
  • Machine Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or immerse the machine in water.

7.2 Descaling

The descaling alert light will illuminate when descaling is required. Regular descaling ensures optimal performance and coffee quality.

  • Use only Nespresso descaling solution.
  • Follow the instructions provided with the descaling kit.
  • The descaling process typically involves filling the water tank with the descaling solution, running it through the machine, and then rinsing with fresh water.

8. Troubleshooting
