This PEMP Linux Screen is specifically designed for certain BMW F-series models and original system configurations.

• Compatible Model Years: BMW 2012 - 2017.
• Compatible Car Series: 1 Series (F20/F21), 2 Series (F22), 3 Series (F30/F31/F34/F35), 4 Series (F32/F33).
• Compatible Original Systems: NBT and CIC systems with 6PIN LVDS connection.
• Incompatible Systems: Not suitable for cars with 4PIN CIC system and 6PIN EVO system.

Special Attention: The 2017 model year is a transition phase for BMW systems. Some 2017 models may be equipped with the EVO system, which is incompatible with this screen. Please verify your car's original system (NBT or CIC with 6PIN LVDS) before purchasing and installing.

5. Setup & Installation

5.1. Pre-Installation Checks

• ISO Harness Connection: Ensure the ISO harness is securely plugged into the original head unit. If it feels loose, unplug and replug it firmly.
• Power and LVDS Cables: Confirm that the power cable and LVDS cable on the back of the new screen are securely connected. Re-plug them if they appear loose.

5.2. Connecting CarPlay / Android Auto

The PEMP Linux Screen supports both wireless and wired connections for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

1. Wireless Connection:
   • On the PEMP screen, navigate to Setup > Smart Phone > Smart Phone List.
   • Ensure the CarPlay option is enabled in the "SmartPhone Setting" interface.
   • On your mobile phone, open Settings > Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth.
   • Pair your phone with the car's Bluetooth device (e.g., "CAR-6291").
   • Allow CarPlay apps to check for CarPlay when prompted on your phone.

7.1. Display Issues

• Splash Screen / Distorted Display: If the screen shows a splash screen or distorted image after installation, navigate to Settings > Car Settings > Original Car's Screen Resolution. • No Sound from PEMP Screen: If there is no sound from the PEMP screen, ensure the audio cable from the harness is correctly plugged into the AUX IN connector in your car's armrest box.
• Low Sound Volume: If the sound volume is too low, try increasing the volume using the car's volume knob.
• Audio Crackling (CarPlay): This can sometimes occur due to connectivity. Ensure your phone's Bluetooth connection is stable.

7.3. Connectivity & Feature Limitations

• Camera Format: The screen does not support aftermarket cameras that exceed 720P AHD format.
• Offline Video: Supports up to 720P offline video.
• 4G/GPS/App Installation: The screen does not support 4G or GPS functionality directly, nor does it support installing additional applications.
• Microphone: The screen has a small pinhole microphone. For calls, you may need to speak directly towards it. The original OEM microphone might not be utilized by the new system.
• Wireless Connectivity (General): If experiencing issues with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, ensure your phone's Bluetooth is properly paired. If necessary, reset the Android Bluetooth process via developer options (if you are familiar with this). Note that connecting to a home Wi-Fi network for Android app updates may require temporarily disconnecting your phone from CarPlay/Android Auto.
