Setup

1. Battery Installation

The ALFAJR CF-19 clock operates on 4 AA batteries. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the clock. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). The clock can also be powered via a 5V USB-C power socket (DC charger not included).

2. Initial Power On and Display

Once batteries are installed or USB-C power is connected, the clock will power on. The display will show the current time, date, and temperature. The default language is English.

3. Setting Time and City

To ensure accurate prayer times, you must set the current time and your city location.

1. Press the SET button on the side of the clock to enter the settings menu.
2. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to navigate through the settings.
3. Select 'Time' to adjust the current hour and minute.
4. Select 'City' and choose your city from the pre-programmed list. The clock supports over 100 major cities in the USA. If your city is not listed, you can enter longitude and latitude coordinates for precise prayer time calculation.
5. Press SET again to confirm each selection and move to the next setting.

4. Daylight Saving Time (DST)

The clock features an automatic Daylight Saving Time option. Ensure this setting is enabled or disabled according to your region's DST schedule. This can be found within the main settings menu.

Operating the Clock

1. Automatic Azan Settings

The clock automatically calculates and plays the Azan five times a day based on your set city. You can customize the Azan experience:

• Azan Styles: Choose from five different Azan reciters: Makkah, Madina, Egypt, AlQuds, and Riyadh. Use the switch on the back of the clock to select your preferred style.
• Volume Control: Adjust the Azan volume using the dedicated switch on the back of the clock (OFF, 1, 2, 3, 4).
• Selective Azan: You can turn the Azan on or off for each prayer individually through the settings menu.

2. Prayer Time Adjustments

• Taqweem Systems: The clock offers six Taqweem systems to choose from, allowing you to match local prayer time calculations.
• Aqamah Time: Set an Aqamah time (prayer reminder) to sound before or after the main Azan time.

3. Display Options

• Language: Switch between English and Arabic for the display text.
• Temperature: View temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
• Calendar: Display Hijri, Gregorian, or both calendars.
• Qibla Direction: The screen displays the Qibla direction relative to North.
• Moon Age: Shows the moon age in days and hours.

4. Placement

The ALFAJR CF-19 clock can be placed on a table using its integrated stand or hung on a wall using the mounting hole on the back.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace all 4 AA batteries promptly. If batteries die completely, you may need to re-enter your settings.

2. Cleaning

To clean the clock, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the display or casing.

Troubleshooting

• Clock not powering on: Check battery installation and ensure correct polarity. If using USB-C, verify the power source and cable.
• Incorrect prayer times: Ensure the correct city and Taqweem system are selected. Verify the current time and date are set accurately. Adjustments for nearby cities or longitude/latitude may be necessary.
• Azan not sounding: Check the Azan volume switch on the back of the clock. Ensure the Azan is not selectively turned off for specific prayers in the settings.
• Display issues: If the display is dim or flickering, replace the batteries.
