Charging Methods

• Hand Crank Charging: Extend the hand crank located on the back of the radio. Rotate the crank clockwise or counter-clockwise at a steady pace (approximately 130-150 RPM) for 3-5 minutes to generate enough power for short-term use of the radio or flashlight. Continuous cranking will charge the internal battery.
• Solar Charging: Place the radio with the solar panel facing direct sunlight. The solar panel will convert sunlight into electricity to charge the internal battery. This method is primarily for maintaining battery charge or for slow, supplemental charging, not for rapid full charges.

Operation

Power On/Off

Press and hold the Power button () for 2 seconds to turn the radio on or off.

Radio Functions (AM/FM/NOAA/WB)

• Mode Selection: Press the Mode button () to cycle through AM, FM, and WB (Weather Band/NOAA) modes.
• Auto Scan: In AM, FM, or WB mode, press and hold the Play/Scan button () to automatically scan and store available stations.
• Manual Tuning: Briefly press the +/- buttons to fine-tune the frequency. Press and hold to quickly scan for the next strong signal.
• Volume Control: Press and hold the +/- buttons to adjust the volume.
• Antenna: Extend the telescopic antenna for optimal reception, especially for FM and WB bands.

The radio is designed to receive emergency signals, including WB NOAA weather alerts, AM/FM radio, with an upgraded antenna for better reception and auto-scan functionality.

Bluetooth Speaker Function

In Bluetooth mode, the radio acts as a portable speaker.

• Pairing: Switch the radio to Bluetooth mode (indicated by "BT" on the display). On your smartphone or other Bluetooth device, search for "DF-580" and pair.
• Playback: Once paired, you can play audio from your device through the radio's speaker. Use the radio's +/- buttons for volume control and the Play/Scan button for play/pause.
